Right then Folks,

i have a spare Valver head, with cams, and valves etc etc,

How do i go about rebuilding this?

are there any books i can use to help me though this as i have never done this before?

Do i take teh chance to put some lairy cams/pullys in it?

I dunno really!

I'm in the same boat, i'd start by stripping it all to pieces and then you'll have an idea of what you need to do to put it back together, and probably also an idea of what needs replacing.

What do you mean by rebuild?

All you really do is lap the valves in and give it a skim, maybe clean out the tappets

have you stripped the head yet as you can test them first then decide when disassembled the best coarse of action

either having the seat re cut lapped or even if you need new guides etc fitted...

but i would re commended getting a professional opinion as its difficult to judge without experience really...

when disassembling make sure you keep everything in the right order place etc until you decide whats being done etc..

have you tested the valve seats yet...

the head is as it is when removed from the car.

So cams still in place.

test the valve seats?
how do i do that/!!

lay the head valve side up on the bench with the cams removed

fill the cylinder head with diesel around the valves till its level with the head face and see how long it takes to leak out and into the ports..
