Just taken out 12 months insurance with RAC for £230.00 fully comp, 5,000 miles per year. I'm 31 with full no claims, car garaged every night and my mum as a named driver.

That is cheap! I don't think I've ever tried RAC for insurance, might have to give them a go at renewal.

do you get break down cover at a reduced rate too?

I went on comparethemeerkat.com and found the RAC, there was another one even cheaper but the excess was higher (mine is £500.00).

The breakdown cover cost me another £63.00 on top, had to stretch a bit more as I wanted to get the car back home if anything bad happened.

Actually £63 is very good. My renewal with Britannia is nearly twice that, when you consider it is just another form of insurance.
