hello peeps

i recently replaced the floats in my gtx as they finally died, why didn't they make them out of brass ffs!

you can get the floats from here Carburettor Hospital - Specialists in carburettors and spares but then not cheap for what they are..but are a lot lot lot cheaper then a new carb! and are easy to replace, i'd recommend get the floats and the gaskets kit if you can. also you could try Welcome to WEBCON UK Ltd but they where out of stock when i rang them. :(

how is the base on your carb? hopefully its not warped or to bad anyway.

you could try a scrap /breakers in you area for a carb off an other 5 etc, or a the volvo 1.7s and ebay now and then.
also have a look here VOLVO 340 & VOLVO 360 > Volvo 300 Mania, the ultimate resource for Volvo 300 owners the carb issues how been covered many times and good info.

btw post in the newbie area to say hello and post some photos! :D

Hi there noticed youve had a carb/fuelling issue with a gtx what where the symptoms? mine seems to be starving at first-when on full bore, after a tight or harsh bend and when higher revs are sustained for a period of time:? any help would be greatly appreciated as atm im just avoiding the problem lol

have you checked the floats?

could also be the emulsion tubes that have crap in them.

might also be carb bolts that have worked lose. (DO NOT over tighten the carb bolts!)
