5 GT Turbo C2J - Swap Carb or Swap engine?

Scrt

Hey peeps,
I just got myself a 1990 R5 GTS 1.4 with the C2J engine.
The car didnt pass emissions as I tried to verify it the other day. It had a much richer mix then what was advertised with the car.
I think the problem lies in the double barrel Carbureator. Now in order to fix it I could either renovate the current carb, or as my thoughts are striving to get more power.
Does anyone know if I can fit the carb from a C1J onto the C2J engine, for later maybe turbo charging it? Also I heard the Volvo 360 has a turbo charged engine which has the same engine mounts, so maybe worth doing a swap instead?

Ideas? :)

Thanks for the read.

The solex 32 dis will probably fit with an adapter plate. It's the volvo 440/480 that was fitted with the 1.7 turbo that's fuel injected and uses similar engine mounts.

sounds stupid but with it being harder to find find the turbo engines and volvo owners not wanting to sell it to us renault owners is there a way to possibly take the NA 1.7 and put a turbo kit on it or would it be more of a pain than just trying to find a turbo engine
