I would but don't like the look of it at all.....looks like tin and has no design inventiveness or creativity whatsoever....

Sounds ok but I don't need any more noise.....the V6 with Apollo kit with window down (LHD) is plenty enough!!!!

I agree its plain looking but far better than the standard ones! And it is high qulity stainless steel quaranteed as usual against corrotion etc. It has been deisgned for flow and noise! 8)

The reason for purchase is the sound it makes. If you like a more fruity induction note why not also have a fruity zorst? The two complement each other perfectly. You can never have enough sweet V6 music! 8)

I don't think it is plain looking? For most of us all we are going to see is the tailpipes and they are much better looking than the little weedy ones Renault have made do with. I was looking at the size of the holes they come through tonight and those bigger QS ones are going to look the business.

Was contemplating cutting the whole back section away but I think I will just make do with taking the black grills out for now.

Our Vee's are going to sound MENTAL! Imagine 6-7,000 rpm under full throttle!

And for town cruising a lovely low rev burble. 8)

Bliss!

ok 85% in on this one guys, keep me updated... again im not confirming just yet but does sound a good idea..

lol, thanks for the PM guys. Just bought a new TV so they'll be no new backbox this month :(

Come on you girls. TV is no excuse! High definition picture? high definition sound is what matters. Get your priorities straight.

Excellent news. We are now at the required 5 orders. :D

The list:
1) Peter255
2) JJ
3) Ant
4) Gonch
5) Kieron

Now we are looking for a few more names to further knock the price down. I will email the supplier. The line will be we have 5 confirmed what's the incentive to get more?

I am however (as are others involved) keen to get the orders in quick. I want to get orders in later this week. So if your thinking about it post up interest ASAP. The more we get the greater chance of more discount! I reckon if we get 6 or 7 onboard we push them down towards £500. Seems fair when we are paying them £3,500!

Further mail to Quicksilver
----------------------------------------

OK. As of this am I have 5 names down to get a back box. Now I have 2 options. Close the group buy or push for a few more names. There are still a few more (not the confirmed 5) wavering over the cost. I know the earlier mail stated you could go no further with discounts but I thought i'd ask again. What about a further discount for 6-7 (or more)orders? For example the current price is hovering just above £500 inc VAT and del. There are others who have stated they will be in for £500 (all inc). Can it be done? Or can anything more be done? I feel sure a little more discount can generate a couple of more orders. If you are unable to budge further on the price then I'll close the group buy. Then comes the good bit. I'll need specifics on the order process to pass on tho. Then I just have to wait 2 weeks!

Cheers
Peter

Fingers crossed.

In exchange for further discounts I have also passed on the very generous offer from James of a banner ad on this site.

I have also personally offered to carry some stickers on my V6 advertising Quicksilver if that will help too.

I'll keep you posted.

Nice work, Peter.

Anyone else want to make their Vee sound like a bit of exotica using a box more commonly found on stuff like Ferraris?

trust me people... it is a awesome box...

Ill be up at the French Car show for anyone who has any doubts... ill happily give a demonstration... i might even get another couple of clips up? perhaps a drive by if people want?

as i mentioned to Ant on pm, the ferrari, maserati, and lotus boys at pistonheads all rave about the quicksilver, so if its good enough for a ferrari 360 then im sure this is going to be a top box...

though if you follow the link, it does seem quicksilver move their prices up and down alot and dont seem to have a set price! one guy on that link got it down from £693 to £496 inc vat... so thats less than we are paying as a group discount....... maybe peter you could mention that!!

i think £500 should be tops!!

Guys here is the latest from Quicksilver.

Looks like we have our final price (£483 plus VAT), as I doubt we can get 10 names down.

Hi Peter,

That’s fantastic news about getting 5 people!

Regarding going any lower on cost, if you could get 10 orders, we could go to a 35% discount which would bring the cost down to 448.50 each plus VAT. I’m afraid that’s about as low as we can go on any discount. I just got your second email in while typing this, and of course we would welcome any advertisements we can receive, but 10 orders would still be needed to go any lower on price. These are not very high margin systems and we would need that kind of volume to reduce our costs to the point where we can offer 35% off retail.

In terms of procedure for ordering if you can provide me with a list of the names (and addresses if you have them) and I’ll start the paperwork on my side. I can either email order forms to the individual people (or you can forward them), or they can call me directly.

I’ll wait until I get all 5 or so orders before starting the production run, so they should all be ready at about the same time

The cost per unit based on 5 orders is £483 plus VAT giving a total per unit of £567.53 and I would expect delivery in 2-3 weeks. Each system comes with a 25 year corrosion guarantee. We accept payment via credit card, cheque or bank transfer. If payment is by cheque we would need to wait for it to clear before shipment.

I have attached an order form which you may feel free to forward to the bottom of this email. Please ask that they are sent to my attention.

Many thanks and look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

good skills ant, you wont regret it mate... awesome piece of kit... but be prepared for NOISE! lol.

I am prepared. Just spoke to the guy and he said they revised them to make them more civilised when not pushing the car, but still mental when you give it plenty of beans.

Can't wait now. Where are all you other knob jockies with your credit cards?
