My last update from QS. :cry:

As far as QS know all have been delivered as expected. HURRAH! Except Tim's which will be later, and Ernie's will leave by wednesday by Fed Ex. Then its down to customs (en route to H.K.) From now on if Tim and Ernie can liase with QS direct rather than ping pong messages on here for just the two of you.

Regarding polishing the welds this was only done on the first 2 back boxes. This is because they were completely assembled then polished. Usually the pipes and the can are made and polished, then assembled later. This is beacuse the assembled unit does not fit in the polishing machine properly. As such only the guinea pigs (Ant and myself) have the different finish.

This MONSTER thread can obviously stay sticky untill Ernie and Tim are happy with their boxes, and we have all got bored posting videos of our new zorsts in action! :twisted:

Hopefully I can now step back from actively managing this group buy as it is now almost complete. PHEW! :shock:

Well done and thanks, mate. Organising this was a really nice thing to do. I still can't work out if you have saved me a few hundred quid or cost me five hundered

I love the exhaust and it seems to be getting louder the more I use it. The car now sounds like it looks and has in a way completed it for me. I can't think of anything else I would do to it other than possibly a bit of work to get the engine to stay cooler. It is loud but not over the top, it booms a bit but not so much that it is uncomfortable and when you push the car it sounds like an animal. Brilliant.

Got to admit my OMG version is coming off and going on E Bay, its very tiring to listen to and doesnt add to the V6 experience, when at full tilt it actually gets quiter until you back off the throttle and it just drones away, anyone want to swap their normal for an OMG version.

Reminds me of my old Nova.

I don't want to be a spoil sport but you can't return it for a refund. You asked for it to be modified in this way. QS have done what you wanted.

I'm a little worried now to say the least!!

I should get it fitted today, so hopefully I can shed some more light on the sound of the OMG probably at the end of the day or 2moro morning.

Hmmm, well I certainly can't draw conclusions until I've heard it - one person's view is not enough to reject it straightaway.

But, from a company that makes thousands of exhausts for the world's best cars, I will be expecting it to be worthy of the retail price. That's not unreasonable.

mine is the std settup and it is way to loud.i even phoned quicksilver to check they hadnt sent me the OMG box instead. these are straight through back boxes and apparantly the only difference in the two is the std one has packing in it to quietin it down. ive only driven the car for about 5 miles and its starting to get on my tits already.

Unfortunately any sports exhaust system will increase the noise of the engine noticeably......thats a fact we will all have to live with. :lol:

The fact also that a majority of folk on here deceided not to heed James' (QS) own advice that the 'OMG' version would be stupidly loud, is, well, to put it bluntly.....tough luck! You got what you asked and paid for! sell it and make a buck or two but just don't mention the fact that it was the OMG version with no baffles!

Any sports exhaust will give a constant drone cruising along....however I just can't imagine ever wanting to fit an exhaust with no baffles in it.... :roll:

I'll wait to pass judgement until mine arrives....

Anything willl be better than the rust bucket thats on mine at the minute!

Just to clarify my points earlier, droning is fine, deafening noise is fine, changing the exhaust characteristics from the 'normal' QS (burble, the odd pop and generally nice rasp) to a flat sounding bean-tin is not. The proof will be in the pudding, and dessert is served tomorrow for me :idea:

James will not accept refunds, nor will he take back the OMG versions to have them made into standard versions.....come on.....he's a business man whos already given great discounts to us and we all had a choice at the end of the day!

Its like going into McDonalds and asking for a Big Mac without the burger....you can't go back and ask for it to be in unles it was a mistake!

Poundrick....you hit the nail on the head there m8....you pretty much don't have a back box anymore. Well you do but its not doing anything....

Take it of and drive the car and I'm pretty sure it will sound the same!

Well I can tell you its not an improvement at all I expected a nice load rasp with loads of pops and farts, instead it drones until 4k and then the noise changes to much like standard, cruising in any gear is not recomended, just floor it and wait for the god awfull noise to disapear.
