Saturday!!

elton.john.jpg

It's getting late have you seen my mates
Ma tell me when the boys get here
It's seven o'clock and I want to rock
Want to get a belly full of beer

My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys
And my old lady she don't care
My sister looks cute in her braces and boots
A handful of grease in her hair

Don't give us none of your aggravation
We had it with your discipline
Saturday night's alright for fighting
Get a little action in

Get about as oiled as a diesel train
Gonna set this dance alight
`Cause Saturday night's the night I like
Saturday night's alright alright alright

Well they're packed pretty tight in here tonight
I'm looking for a dolly who'll see me right
I may use a little muscle to get what I need
I may sink a little drink and shout out "She's with me!"

A couple of the sound that I really like
Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike
I'm a juvenile product of the working class
Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass

Update from James @ QS

Ant and my back boxes and the pattern collector box have been returned to the QS factory. It would appear that the Renault collector box is adjustable. You can extend or shorten the pipe one end. As such the current back boxes can be adjusted to fit perfectly.

This is a surpirse to QS, myself and Scott. The collector box has been made to accept some variance in the back box. What is not clear is if this means different cars have different sized back boxes. Further investigation will continue next week to ensure that the back boxes are of the optimum size, such that un-necessary adjustment for fitting is avoided.

I will once agin speak to QS Monday next week to confirm the plan of action.

Thanks
Peter

P.S. QS are happy to make back boxes minus some baffles as required. This will reduce the silencing effect and make the zorst louder. However pls bear in mind baffles cannot be added again later, BUT either way the collector box and cats will still have a silencing effect.

I don't understand how the collector box is adjustable? I saw it and it didn't look like it was?

Apparently one end of the collector box has the pipe welded in place but one end has a pipe inside another pipe with a clamp. As such it can be extended. QS saw it was rusty hit it with a hammer undid the clamp and have adjusted out the miss-alignment.

Just a thought (for Peter when he's back from the pub), but could QS not replicate the adjustable pipe in their design thus allowing for any minor fitting issues?

Can't wait to hear the std system... :D

The first ones are going to be conservative. You lucky boys have got time to spec up full anti baffle systems!!!

[grumble].... I should have left already!

JJ your miss-understanding old boy. There is no need for both to be adjustable. It looks like ALL renault collector boxes are adjustable so there is no issue fitting the QS b/boxes for any of us. BUT there may be a benefit in changing the b/box dimensions so adjustment is not required / minimised.

Peter :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh....sorry! I mis-understood and through the adjustor was on the back box rather than the existing pipework. So does that mean the box you tried fitting last week would have gone on OK if Scott had re-adjusted the adjustable connection???

the k-tec box is half the size of a std mk2 back box and arguably any louder. so with this in mind there is no point in changing the back box unless we are going to hear it.i hope mine is spec,d as LOUD.

Im so tempted by a QS box, wouldnt want silly mega loudness though. i had a full spoon system on my type R and that sounded sweet 8)

We all listened to BigChris' sound/video clip. The best sounding pipe I have heard for our cars!!

...I've just got home from a night on the coke (diet ;) ) and really had some fun on the way home listening to the exhaust – didn't go much over 110 (as I am in London) but I was thinking if the original set up is like this, the QS should be awesome!!!!!
