Polished plenum

VII Car Care

New Member
Hey guys, is it worth buying a spare or just do mine? Are spares mega money? Is it difficult getting it off? Thought I'd give it a go over winter.

Cheers!

Hi Dawn, been there and done it but wouldn't fancy doing another

Think you might have to polish your own as I doubt you'll find a second hand one very easily. Not sure of the price new but seem to remember James mentioning if you required the part ' contact your dealer' !!!!!
Removing it is very easy with only about 10 bolts but you'll probably need new gaskets when replacing it. Easy enough and cheaper to make a template and cut your own from gasket paper ;)

plenum 82 00 268 967 £489.52
gasket 82 00 189 379 £34.00 x 2

list prices. Use RPD members discount code if ordering

Did you just take the top half off, or the whole thing then split? Should only take a few hours to polish at work.

How long did yours take Russo!!?

About 2 years!!!!!

Started it after seeing Steve's rebuild but got fed up as it's such a boring job!!!! Quite a few hours work grinding, sanding & polishing.

Well worth it if you can be bothered ;)

oooooooh shiny!!!!

Does Scott have any contacts down his way for doing this? I don't fancy cocking mine up! :s

Would be ideal to have it done when the belts are due :approve:

Did you make your badges on the plenum Phil?

Yes, they are thin carbon sheet with decals made up and clear coated. James wanted something a little different with his badges ;)
Was going to put the original badges back on but they looked a little tired!!!

My plenum bolts are not looking good, there's one in special very rusty:

You guys know if these bolts are standard so I could get them in any hardware shop or are they specific?

Don't think the bolts are anything special just standard metric bolts with retained washers if I remember correctly :approve:
