5 GT Turbo Ph1 and ph2 spring length question

since the cobra lowering springs i bought earlier this year ended up lowering the car way to much to be drivable on rough roads, i ordered some 35 mm lowering springs from spax through DCperformance.

unfortunately when the springs arrived they were 10cm shorter then the stock springs, and would end up lowering the car around the same length as the cobra springs.
i got in touch with DCP, who then asked Spax, which confirmed they were supposed to be for ph1 cars.

i think spax must be at fault here, but i will probably not get any help from DCP any more, seeing as they have spax on their side.

so i am asking you guys, what length is the stock springs over there in the uk?
i have two pairs of shocks and springs (one salvaged from an early GTT) and they are all around 34cm long, while the lowering springs i got from spax are 24cm long.

so nobody has any spare springs laying around, just itching to be measured?

I guess you are running ph1 setup ? I do not have a spring to measure off hand.

I went through all this years ago though on the van with ph1 koni yellow struts -35mm springs were like -50-60mm low. Apex -50mm springs were at least -70mm, tyres were catching the arches when turning was actually undrivable.

I eventually went for -25mm Apex springs to suit ph1 for subtle lows say -35mm when settled. I dont think they are available anymore though.

Yep, i have ph1 suspension.
The most annoying thing is they were sold as being ph1 springs, and Spax really should know better. (the springs were not in stock and had to be freshly manufactured)
I even took pictures to show how bad the fit was, but they just keep saying it will be fine because they are stiffer then stock, which is bullshit!

I guess i'll just have to keep pestering them, and try to at least get some of my money back, as the springs are useless to me.

Well, trying to get my money back turned out to be a huge waste of time.

After sending off hundreds of emails with technical explanations and pictures, DCPerformance still "won't believe" there is a difference between the ph1 and ph2 springs, so therefore it wasn't their fault that the springs wont fit.

He said he contacted spax to clarify things, but to be honest i doubt it.
i guess the next step is contacting spax directly myself, but since DCP wont budge i seriously doubt it will help me any.

Stay away from that shop if possible!
