PC Based XR25 USB Cables

Good stuff, let us know how you get on with it
I managed to hook it up to the car and see some basic readings on the main screen of the software. :)

But how do I launch the virtual dashboard? I tried Windows > Dials but nothing happens when I click it. It doesn't matter what I click on the different menu options. Nothing happens. Including the "Manual" option in "Help", which would be of use now. :)

On the far left of the screen there is a check box for gauges, tick that and it'll open the dashboard

Alot of things don't work or freeze which is a bit annoying but it works for the important bits (reading the sensors)

Got my cable, which is very good quality. The software seems very buggy. I have to have car running before connecting cable otherwise app is showing errors of invalid casts (string to decimal or something). Anyway it works and now I can try to figure our what is causing problems on hot weather when I restart engine. And the car was Clio Williams (1994).

Thx for the cable.

How do i go about getting one of these cables mate, (like payment and postage etc) & does it include the software? Are they on ebay?

Thanks :)

Just ordered a bare pcb kit as it should be easier to fit on my not exactly standard loom, been having some issues with the schematics floating about so this will let me see if it's a car issue or a Chris' homebrew circuit issue.

Great work chap, I imagine the F7x'd Volvo lot will be pretty keen on these.

Order received, thanks.

I guess that means i need to write up the instructions!

Don't stress too much bud, I'm an electronic engineer. If you can give me either a list of R1=x or similar that should be fine, I have the single wire coming out the ECU to a 1/4" spade atm and can grab an earth as and where needed (I imagine those are the 2 wires?) Tx from the board would be nice, as would baud rate and handshaking ;)

Cheers!

Got my cable thanks Chet, nice profesional job mate.
I just loaded it into my p.c. looks promissing.

The only problem I have now is that the Renault will not fit into the study room next to the computer.
Maybe my next purchase is going to have to be a laptop computer eh.

cheers
