Question about the kit

Hello,
Does the DIY kit include a schematic on how to connect the PCB to the USB cable?
Which connections need to be made?
The connector in the car has 3 wires, i think?
A standard USB connector will work?

Cheers,
Marcel

There are two wires that need to be connected to the diagnostic port or ECU.

The DIY kit includes a 6-pin header to connect to a standard FTDI TTL cable

OK, great.
The kit is still available, or is it also limited?

Does the software have other options, for example fault reading like
the original XR25?

As far as I know the software fully emulates the original XR25.

It's my understanding that these ECU's don't store fault codes but rather the XR25 detects faults based on the output from the ECU so it should work.

Kits aren't limited.

I also have some FTDI cables if you don't have one

OK, great.
I think you are right, you can read errors with the XR25, but
they are not stored anywhere.
How much does the cable cost?
That way i can pay the total with paypal.

Many thanks!

Now i'm slightly confused...
To make the cable from the car to the laptop,
i need the DIY kit (12 pounds), only i need to have a USB cable to connect to the PCB.
Or, i can buy the complete cable for the 35 pounds and i do not need
anything else, right?

For £35 you get a complete cable, it is all you need.

If you buy a kit (£12) and FTDI cable (£16) you will have the same functionality as the complete cable but you will need to assemble it and solder wires to the car.

Just to update my order. Stunningly happy, confirmed a few thoughts I had with my engine and getting huge amounts of useful data to work out what to keep on top of!

Hi,

I had planned on keeping the last one for myself but i ordered some more bits for new cables today so yes, i have one more complete cable available if you want it
