I spent ages trying to ensure that I gopt the correct replacement oil when I did my oil change - there was lots of conflicting information and factors, many of which have been listed in this thread ... As I sit here typing I can't remember what it was exactly now but might take a look through my records ... I remember the bottle having blue and red colouring on it and it being ELF - as in the links above ...
I do also recall not being able to get the recommended oil due to it being discontinued so I used the appropriate TR replacement - which after all the research for replacements ticked the boxes and was as recommended by Renault. No issues with it ...
To refill, I didn't have the special dip-stick tool, instead I drained all the oil and ensured that I put the correct amount back in by measuring the volume. I also did what Mossy is suggesting and shared the bottle with another owner as a 5 litre bottle does 2 gearboxes and the stuff is quite expensive and half the bottle will just end up sat unused otherwise.
