Not so retro release bearing

Mr Jones

Member
Been to look at a clio 172.
At idle, the clutch release bearing is making a noise (sort of screeching noise), but silent when the clutch is pressed.
I have heard this can be quite normal, but am unsure if it will last, cause damage or anything?

What are your thoughts?

Cheers!

sounds like the release bearing is runnin dry, nothin u can do about unless you drop the g/box damage wise if it was to go it would ethier start eating the diaphram springs on the pressure plate or start to eat the fork (unlikey to be the second), if it was me i would drove it because if u did a clutch yo would change the pressure plate anyway
