Non renault Q, Honda 16v engines

1991 ROVER 216 GTI WHITE HATCHBACK on eBay, also, Rover MG, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 11-Oct-08 190:00 BST)

i used to love these, and fancy a wee toy, i know the honda engines are good, but this "16 valve" gti looks odd, and the difference in the 8 valve and 16 valve engined cars were that the 16v ones had the electric sunroof switch up on the dash, right hand side of the steering colunm right next to the dash clocks, and a rear higher spoiler.

anyone own one before, and am i right? :mrgreen:

had one of these for three weeks about three years ago,did a full service and cam belt then local tealeafs decided it would be fun to borrow it and then barbeque it.mine had the small spoiler and sohc 16v honda engine,i think only the dohc rover 16v engined ones had the larger spoiler but not 100% shure.

cheers rag, but im sure the 216 TC was a honda engine too, dont if know there was a SOHC 16v one, never heard of that one, but im no expert either, lol

been looking for my old haynes manuel for the rover can't find it but defo sohc honda and dohc rover,as i remember the rover engine had about 10bhp more than the honda but was less reliable.so if you buy it it's the better engine.

bin the engien and fit the honda lump, silly bhp from the 1.8 is achievable NA on them
