NIGHTMARE QUOTES......What am I going to do...??????

.....after the saga with Adrian F***-wits last week, I have been trying, what seems like everywhere for car insurance for the Vee and it's not looking good at all.... :shock: :cry:

Got over 30+ quotes back from all the top brokers....inc Elephant/Confused/Zurich/Swinton/ Women-only-driver policies.....girlies driving hot hatches insurance....restricted mileage policies....social and commuting only policies....etc etc etc....you name it, I've tried it....all coming back to me with quotes in excess of £850.......

This is not good at all.....if I was 20, my first insurance policy and no 'no claims' fine....but this is just plain ridiculous...Tesco wouldn't even give me a quote - they refused point blank... :shock: :shock:

Any suggestions guys..... :cry: :cry: (Martin, I'm going to try Sky and Dorset tomorrow - thx for that hun :wink: )

I'm 38 but have my 27 year old fiance on the cover and PNCD (just in case ) with class 1 biz use, plus mods up to 290bhp. So despite 7 yrs ncd was expecting a pasting..renewal came in from Privilege @ £1354 and thats when I started looking round...Here's what I've found so far...

Our friends (AF)....£588 £300xs (Equity Red Sar)*
Elephant...............£646 £450xs
Admiral..................£647 £450xs
Bell........................£711 £450xs (Great Lakes - pt Admiral)
Greenlight.............£958 £450xs
Privilege................£1354 £750xs
Competition Car Ins £1378 £500xs (incs 4 track days covers p.a!)
Performance Direct £1456 (didnt bother writing the xs's down!)

Am awaiting quotes back from Peart Assoc, Firebond, Skyand Autotorque...Also had have a dozen no quotes (RSA, NU,Tesco,etc)

*Having received and read the AF quote, I note they've not quoted class 1 biz use so that's a mis-quote..funny that...Looks like the Black Frog will be Insured by an Elephant this year (subject to receipt of those o/s quotes).

I know my figures are my figures, but they are a spread of the market and as such should indicate a little of how it views our cars/the risk....

Will let you know any good'uns I come across...I have until 6/10/6 to renew so not too much of an issue yet...

I don't know what the issue is, as my quotes are coming back totally stupid....as much as £2.5K...!!!!!!!!! (WTF..???!!!!!!! :shock: )

I think this is going back to the issue I had last time - my POSTCODE (see previous posts in Insurance section for the full laborious saga..!!! :roll: ) I am in one of the worst postcode ratings in the country - even though the 'rough/dodgy' area happens to be about 2-3 miles away from me over a hill..!!

I'm going to ring a couple of the people you have noted in your post, who I haven't heard of before or contacted.
