New to forum. New 1985 R11 turbo (5door)

Hey everyone, not sure the best way to get the ball rolling but I’m from Melbourne, Australia and I’ve just picked up a 1985 R11 Turbo 5 door.

Looks to have been someone’s rally/ race project dream before me and now it’s mine!

Guess general questions would be best place for bits and pieces/info and does anybody know if body kits exist for the 5 door?

BOOM!! Another 11 Turbo Lives!! And this one's in OZ!! (Be careful of fires with these cars... )

Already can see:

• It's an early phase 1 model
• Got a 5 GT Turbo steering wheel
• Got 19/Clio 16v Leather Seats
• Different gearknob
• The uber rare trip computer (Amazed if it still works)
• It seems to be a French registered right hand drive car...? So I'm guessing it's originally a UK car that's found it's way down-under??

You're not going to get much in the way of a Bodykit for a 5 door 11 Turbo, they did do a Phase 2 that came with the arches and bumpers from the 3 door turbo model, but nothing too lary.

Might be better keeping it honest and simple as it is, and just thrash it!

Interesting mate! Thanks for that info. I know next to nothing about these cars! I’d be interested in sourcing that phase 2 kit you mentioned, any idea?
Thinking of making it a track car so thrashing it will be a given haha

Parts wise, you're probably best of shipping stuff from Europe, there's still a bit of stuff lurking around here. We can ship to you if you want ive supplied to AU several times.

You'd have to find an 11 Turbo breaking in Europe, and take the necessary parts - so availability wise very difficult. Ill keep my eyes open for you. The bumpers, lights and stuff off the 3dr should fit, not sure on the sideskirts though.

Yeah alright figured as much, I’m guessing the skirts are shorter in the 3 door. Would be great if anyone could confirm as I’ve found a website that sells it all new, but unsure if skirts are for 3 door and haven’t heard back as of yet.

No, I found this out to my cost... the rear bumper has got a different profile where it meets the rear 1/4 area (Take a look at the picture above, it's chopped off at 45 degrees) I got one of those bumpers thinking it was a new 3 door one, and only when I went to fit it, did I find out it was the wrong one.. (Incidentally that went in the bin...)
