New member - going balls deep straight into a Meglio build

Hi all,

bought a 197 from a mate last year with a Megane 275bhp engine, gearbox, and bits needed for the conversion. I decided to take a trip to the Nurburgring this summer as I wanted a trackday in the bag with car standard..and what an awesome handling car it is. I was really happy with 197 around the ring.

Ive just taken the engine and gearbox out (already sold) and will be dropping the Megane engine in in a few weeks.

About to start rebuilding my Meglio for the 3rd time in 6 months. Great cars when they work but the engine lottery is a pain in the ass.

Think most people in Here have had them including myself and totally agree, engines can be a pain in the arse but when they run well they’re amazing!

First one had an injector issue that caused an absolute arse load of DET, this one has been absolutely brilliant before a rocker arm failed and bent a valve. Think I'm going down the rebuild route now rather than roll the dice again.

being so old now and potentially abused, most are nearing their limits with a map on. I cracked a ringland on my meg engine twingo.

After the 3rd engine was the reason I’ve sold off all the Meglio parts. Still not decided what I’m going to with the car itself.
