The other thing that confuses me is that any gearbox that mates up to the bellhousing pattern of the 2.1 diesel (J8S?) wont mate to the F8Q.

OH NO... So what are my options...?

What about the NG9 box is that what I need to mate the F8Q.....Help me I am so thick...!

Just been reading back on this post because its all gone quiet and help seems to have given up on me....Then I noticed...Yes I did say Transverse but what I ment was INLINE... There is the 1997–2001 Renault Trafic which I think had a F8Q and a iinline box.... Is that what i need as a easy replacement ?

What is the box code and has anybody got a picture of one then i can confirm...

Its the box which will take a F8Q and the gear leaver fastens to the back of the box. Its just a metal rod pivoted in the floor to the gearbox...simple but effective... Mine is hydrolic clutch cylinder aswell but can be converted still have 19 footpedals and servo...may have to fit that yet but not sure....
