New from Down Under

G'day fellas.

Been looking for a Phase 2 V6 for a while and after a few (long, long...) years, there's one recently advertised for sale here Down Under!

Will have a look at the car in a week time. It's Iliad Blue and did came from the UK. Once I get to see the plaque, I might be able to dig more into the history of the car. The seller isn't as responsive as I'd like him to be answering my questions on the car but he could really be under a lot of pressure work-wise.

Fingers crossed the car isn't a ticking time bomb !!!

Hi 9810588,

Did your parents name you that? Lol!

Club registrar is the best person to advise - though you'll need to be a paid up member to access forum and PMs. An absolute must if you become a fully fledged Ver owner!

There have only been a few Vees that have made their way down under. Would be an awesome sight to see one there!

Regards
Kett

The main thing to check 9810588 is that the car is registered for use in Australia. They weren't type approved over there, but could be brought over and registered by someone moving to / back to Oz. Make sure it has a proper ID, and not an ID from a standard Clio.......that could bite you later on.

Hi and welcome to another (potential) Aussie V6 owner! I hope the car ticks the boxes when you get to see it.

Best thing you could ever do (apart from buying a Clio V6) is join this forum too!

LOL at Kett. No parents didn't name me 9810588. Just a bit cautious in the online world not giving much personal info yet unique enough to have the same username across so many things (emails, forums, etc). Real name is Chris.

Once I see the car and it's not an obvious bomb, I'll definitely join the forum. Being such a unique car, I'm sure I need all the info and expertise here.

I have had a look and driven the car but I'm not an expert nor could do underbody inspection. Drove fine and the engine sound is just addictive!

Will be picking up the car in three weeks. Mad busy at work preventing me from picking it up any earlier.

It is a UK car no. 40. Could not find much history on the forum. The fact that it has only recently gone through inspection as part of personal import process hopefully means the car has no rust issue or had been in a major accident.

Excited but nervous at the same time!

Well, just picked up the car. Traveled 225 miles on its way to the new home. Still need a nine hours journey on the ferry before arriving at the new home town.

Great photo Kris and congratulations :approve:
Hope you made the journey home safely with the ferry crossing etc
I've got stocked up with the aerial gaskets if you ever need another ;) ( might not last long in that 40*C heat )
