Petrol choice
The design point for the Vee is 98 RON petrol, and hence the engine timing is optimized for this. However the car will sense the RON rating of the fuel being used and will adapt the timing accordingly. Therefore the Vee will run on standard 95 RON unleaded, but most owners run their cars on super unleaded, which is at least 97 RON. Various petrol retailers offer super unleaded petrols than meet or better the 98 RON requirement, most notable Shell V-Power and Tesco Super which are 99 RON. As well as a smoother and more urgent response from the car when running 98+ RON, you should also expect to see slightly better petrol consumption.
Typical petrol consumption is in the 21-23MPG range. When pushed hard it'll easily fall below this; on long runs it can get into the high 20s.
