Jeez that is some garage, bigger than my house!.

Not mine all of it. I rent it together with some other guys. But I have ok space. I dream of my own place. But when living in an apartment in the city, this will have to do.

Looks good what made you go for quicksilver

I was really thinking about whether to choose the QuickSilver or the Janspeed.
I am sure that the Janspeed is a great system, everyone in here seems to really like it. However my car is strictly a "fun" car, will never be a daily driver. Therefore I don't mind something a little louder (which is why I chose the Super Sports LOL). I have seen a lot of YouTube videos too, and like the QuickSilver sound.
I did enquire about a Janspeed system. First at a place called DC Performance, who advertised the systems on their page. They newer responded. Then I tried contacting Janspeed directly. They only responded that they could make it, but I never heard from them again. I have tried dealing with companies with these kinds of service levels before. Just can't be bothered with it anymore. QuickSilver was very straight forward and easy.
Finally I also liked the QuickSilver being polished stainless, on a ph 1 the exhaust is very much on show.

Dalla, I have the QuickSilver & it is definitely not for a daily driver but otherwise it's a right laugh. Not as refined sound ( doesn't burble & pop as much ) as other boxes, but it is loud with its own characterful sound ( gives a constant some would say irritating drone ). Been on my car for years, so far no problems with it.

Cool, Happy to hear that. I have quite a High treshold when it comes to noise...

Ok Guys. About time i update this..

I got the brake calipers of and masked them. Plan was 2-3 coats of black, apply AP racing decals, and the a couple of layers of clear coat.
I made sure to block of all threads with these brass screws bought on EBay. Thread is M10x1

The Calipers were painted with this stuff. Quite impressive and easy to use.

The decals were also bought on EBay. Made from heat resistant yellow vinyl. These are the progress pictures.

I think they turned out great. I am leaving the to cure for a week, then installing them on the car.

As mentioned I also ordered a QuickSilver Super Sports. That arrived this Friday, and I fitted it yesterday.
The exhaust seems to be ok well made, and did fit ok. However it took some work getting it to fit. I had to adjust the distance between the pipes going into the back box.
[album]17307[/album]

This is done, by adjusting one of the pipes on the collector box, there's a clamp on left side, which allows you to slide the left pipe in and out. Unfortunately mine was seized, so I had to take the collector box of. Naturally the bolts for the collector box were also seized. I got them out in the end. Broke one bolt, which had to be drilled out. Another thread was slightly damaged by the bolt. But in the end I were able the repair the threads? Got the pipe adjusted, and refit the box. I will buy new bolts today. This stressed me so much that I forgot to take pictures. :(
[album]17308[/album]

After this I loosely offered up the rear bumper to align everything.i will need to take it of again to change the collector bolts.
But I did get the exhaust tips aligned, and to me the seem to se quite good in the holes. However both tips seems to be pointing slightly towards the centre on the car. So they sit at a slight angle pointing toward each other. Is this normal?
Here's so me pics of the fitted

I started it up shortly in the garage. But not long enough for a video. Will do that when it is back on wheels. Did sound awesome though.

Looks sweet, can't really see the tips are pointing inwards & they're clearing the openings well. Seems it's never a perfect fit with these boxes. Glad you liked the sound, next purchase will be some ear defenders [emoji6]

Looks a very good fit!

I think the OEM tail pipes probably sit a little off-centre too, but the bigger bore pipes make the imperfection more noticeable.
Good workmanship!

Yeah, very Happy with the fit too. Probably hard to see in the pics, but they are very very close to symmetrical form side to side. Can't wait to hear it on full chat on the Autobahn enroute to the Nürburgring this summer.. ;)

Ear defenders and paracetamol needed, 10 miles with one of these was more than enough for me, the drone sets your head ringing

I've had my QS since last year, and though I don't daily drive the Vee, I use it regularly in the Summer.

The exhaust has a resonance/boom at mid level revs, circa 3000rpm, which isn't great for your head! However I tend to just drive quicker when on the motorway, and I've got used to it.

It's definitely loud - but I enjoy the extra noise, and I always have the original to swap back to if my tastes change. My proudest moment at Origine RS was tripping the noise meter at full chat on the start/finish straight (as well as not binning it in the wet in the morning!).

Enjoying the progress reports - car looks amazing.

Just a small update. As mentioned, the collector bolts were damaged when I took them of. One snapped, the other was close to snapping. I was able to repair the thread without problems, but I couldn't source the bolts from Renault. That would have been the easiest. But first of the wanted 70£ for the four, and secondly they couldn't get them. Anyways I got them from eBay, so just had to wait a bit. However these bolts are regular flange head M10x25.

After the new bolts were fitted, I could bolt the rear bumper on finally. The fit is still very close to perfect, and the sound was just what I was after.

I have also finished the shine up of the calipers, just need to fit them. They had three coats of black, and two coats clear. And AP stickers of course..

Yesterday I also got my wheels back from refurbish, they look great, just like brand new. I am very pleased. Can't wait to get them fitted.

Hi Guys
Some more progress. The car is now on the ground with the brakes and wheels refitted. I am very pleased with the result. Also had a chance to drive the car around the garage, with the new exhaust. It sounds very cool. I have a video, but I am unsure how to upload it. Will post it with a link on YouTube later.

Small update. My R5 GTT is still in pieces. And this weekend there's a training session ahead of this years hill climb season. I decided to put the Vee to good use. However it requires it to be fitted with an fire extinguisher, so I fabbed up this bracket, which is fitted to the cd changer bracket. I borrowed the extinguisher from the R5. But it might leave it in the Clio and get a new one for the R5.
