Mk1 Valver... K-Swap... "Clonda"? ...

OK some will remember me trying to sell this valver & bringing it along to Clio Fest Blyton?... Its sat in my workshop for years, but seeing as I have now sold the TwingoGoGo ... I'm currently "Track Car-less"...
I've toyed with converting it to a 1#2, even built an engine & acquired a gearbox/diff for it. Much contemplating & surfing the net & I decided to change plans & go for the K-Swap.

So far I've just bought a breakers yard k20 & currently having a gearbox built (5 speed into the 6 speed housing & a Quaife diff)... ordered the conversion driveshafts, and a set of weld-in engine mounts...
So, last couple of days have seen me clear the shell of years of crap piled in and on it from this...

Hi Adey, hopefully I'm primarily going to race Javelin Sprint series again, this would be in J09 class which is predominantly Clio182 & MX5 ruled so it should be competitive amongst them, also I fancy a couple of rounds of Time Attack where it will qualify for the "Classic & Retro" class.
I've also got hold of another Twingo133 so I can use that to get 10 signatures on my MSUK licence for hill climbs & sprint events...

well that's the plan, we will see how it all materialises, as I've just bought a new Renault Master to use as a camper/ race support/ tow vehicle and a covered trailer which needs work too ( the Horsebox/ Racebox has gone) so LOTS to do before season starts...

Just a Quick update... There's NO WAY I could get this project ready for the start of this race season so I purchased a temporary car to start the season with... its a very "unobtrusive" 172, painted by a London street artist/ Graffiti artist... I suspect VERY LONG CIGARETTES were involved in the end result. its great fun & like going back in time 10-15 years!. now i wasnt supposed to be doing anything to this car as its temporary but.. ill start its own thread as that idea is not gonna last...

Oh a little update... I do have this lovely K20 & Custom built gearbox waiting to go in. (gearbox built to a 5speed instead of factory 6speed & of course and lsd & all fresh internals)

I have bought a K20 for my 197 Cup…

Have you bought mounts yet? I know someone who was building a K20 mk1 but has just bought an X65 Cup car so that’s not Happening now and has billet mounts for it.
