Speaking as someone who has never been to a v6clio meet, but plenty of others, I have always enjoyed events like Silverstone Classic or anything at goodwood.

I could see Silverstone Classic as a great venue, lots of space for a big owners club section, racing all weekend, don't need to worry about food and Bikini Babes they could (probably) be found elsewhere. People here also speak about raising the cars profile and if and when it will reach classic/ cult status, I bet these kind of venues would really help.

You find things there like a row of xj220's at the Jaguar owners club and then a row of Ford Rs200's, a row of Clio V6s would be great.

Last year there was a lone guy with a liquid yellow phase 2, a renault trailor and a couple of flags... he was getting enough attention and encouraging conversation alone. (Nice car by the way if your on here, we had a brief chat)
Totally agree. Some of us did attend Silverstone Classic in 2012, albeit a rather hastily arranged gathering. It is a fantastic venue/event (will never forget the sight of 60-odd F40's all lined up in perfect order!), and I hope it will become an official event from 2013 onwards. Not sure what time you turned up at the Renault Classic parking area (organised by Renault Alpine Owners Club) but I think there were about 7-8 Phase 2's in attendance (I am certain of 5 as I have photos), but don't remember seeing a LY there, unless it got there after I had moved on to watch the on track action and left before I got back - I was one of the first to get there and the last to leave.

Goodwood and Piston Heads Sunday Service events are top trumps too.

EDIT: Okay just saw your earlier post - I was referring to Sunday.

My attendance last year was pathetic (Silverstone Classic, Simply French and Montlhery) so missed out on some great banter and no doubt good drives. Some great events on this year and ideas for the club but I lost my previous post (how annoying!) so will keep what I originally compiled short and simple:

Coventry Retro 22-24 FEBRUARY
RS TRACKDAY @ Spa 19 APRIL
Simply French | 12 MAY
Gaydon Spring Classic & Cream Tea Run 12 MAY
MOTORSPORT AT THE PALACE 26-27 MAY
La Vie En Bleu 1-2 JUNE
WSR @ Spa 1-2 JUNE
Bromley Pageant 9 JUNE
Cholmondeley Pageant Of Power 14-16 JUNE
Le Mans 24 Hours 23 JUNE
Kimbolton Country Fayre 14 JULY
Goodwood Festival Of Speed 11-14 JULY
Silverstone Classic 26-28 JULY
Supercars @ Wilton House 4 AUGUST
Supercar Showdown @ Beaulieu 26 AUGUST
Goodwood Revival 13-15 SEPTEMBER
Chelsea Autolegends TBC SEPTEMBER

RS National Meet @ Gaydon (if on)
CS National Meet @ Gaydon (if on)
Lakes
Blackpool
Oxford
Beachy Head
New Forest
Hever Castle

The above is not all about us as a club having a stand but events to attend and a throw a good drive in as well.
Plenty of events no doubt I have missed off but the above would a summer and a half!!
Obviously there will be some local meets as well.
And would love to do a club tour round Scottish Highlands, Monaco and Nurburgring maybe 2014 hint hint :)

I'm currently starting to organise the Silverstone Classic for this summer guys so keep an eye out. Once I've had confirmation from the Silverstone events team of how many cars we are allowed etc etc, I'll post up an attendee list.(Please leave it until then to put your name down for it). Judging by last year, there wasn't really a set limit for us which is great and saves dissapointment. Although it will be set over 3 days, it would be nice to try and get everyone aiming for the sunday or a set particular day to have a good show of numbers. As I live local to the track, I'll also sort a small " spirited drive" along with a decent meal for people wishing to stretch their legs either the night before hand or after the event. This is up to you guys though.

Ill keep you guys posted.

As Brett has just said guys, already on the case for Silverstone Classic. ;)

We also have several other favourite meets lined up for you all, including some new ones. We've not been sat on our arses.

Regards Goodwood breakfast club, we've been going along to them for years, at least since 2005, and I've attending with others in a v6 since 2007. It's not a 'club' specific event though and we have to park where were told generally.

Anyone from up't North fancy getting involved with events? ;)

Looking forward to the yrs events.
I enjoy any types of meets tbh. Those with tunnels are the best- how can you forget the look on passers by as a few V6's hammer through Hindhead. Ultimately the driving ones interest me more, and the lakes 2011 is probably one of the best meets i've been too.

I'm hoping that this year we'll get enough interest to get the Lakes meet back on the calendar again, from reading the posts it does seem very popular, just last year there wasn't enough interest [smilie=icon_eek.gif]
