Ah man. It must be good when it works or you would have thrown in the towel by now!Unfortunately Mr Bond the car is testing my every last nerve.
Still been unable to solve the lambda issue as well as the dash turning off and to make things worse I now have a consistent misfire which I’m trying to solve. Awaiting new coils from US.
Also not helped by my garage door failing so waiting for them to come fix that too. It’s taken a back step for the time being to save my own sanity.
I understand where you are coming from. Shut the garage, forget the car and return when you want to!I’m too deep to give in although I’d like to but for the time being it can stay locked away so I don’t have to think about it.
I have a new job starting in 2 weeks and a nice week in Zante at the end of May. I’ll get back into it when the times right.
I know it sounds a bit OTT but the last few months it’s put me under so much stress I just started to get ill, it’s not worth it.
Sad that it’s making you ill Mark, stress is very unhealthy.I’m too deep to give in although I’d like to but for the time being it can stay locked away so I don’t have to think about it.

Very true. Not like anyone is going to drive off in it.The car will always be there
I had to get a lockup for the Evo for a while after it jumped off the dyno and killed the exhaust (flattened a Blitz Nur-Spec R), it was the last straw after all the setbacks I had with the car.I’m too deep to give in although I’d like to but for the time being it can stay locked away so I don’t have to think about it.
They are everywhere Mark. They walk amongst us with their mouths open shuffling around. It seems I attract absolute retards constantly.
47 here, 48 soon, V12 Aston is looking more and more appealing.but at 45years old
Remember that 50% of the population is below average intelligence. It seems I attract absolute retards constantly
very similar story from my mate Karl, hes spend an inordinate amount of time and money building an evo powered, 600hp Proton Jumbuck, and he's had the luck of the devil with it. Its still not right, after over a decade.I had to get a lockup for the Evo for a while after it jumped off the dyno and killed the exhaust (flattened a Blitz Nur-Spec R), it was the last straw after all the setbacks I had with the car.
At the time my mum was in hospital dying too, so I just couldn't be arsed with cars, let alone fixing them.
The problem was, the longer it sat in the lockup, the more I realised that I just didn't want / need it anymore.
I toyed with the idea of stripping it for parts, but ultimately I couldn't even get the motivation to break it.
So in the end I just put it up for sale and waited the 18 months for the right buyer to come along. In that time I put a new exhaust on it (only for the Turbo to fail 20 miles later), so I put a new (better) turbo on, tweaked the map and it was quicker (maybe I hoped the new turbo and extra power would make me love it again, but it made no difference).
Sometimes no matter what you do, the project just doesn't go to plan, even when you get all the correct parts, correct companies or people working on it, it can still go to shit, and the setbacks eventually add up. Sometimes in the end it's better to just call it a day, to get your life back.
That was 13 years ago now, and tbh I have prob missed it a handful of times, but never for more than a few mins at a time.
Yes this has been 5 years in the making so far and this was supposed to be “the” year for it to be finished in all its glory.very similar story from my mate Karl, hes spend an inordinate amount of time and money building an evo powered, 600hp Proton Jumbuck, and he's had the luck of the devil with it. We have heard the same thing from Dave. Dont panicYes this has been 5 years in the making so far and this was supposed to be “the” year for it to be finished in all its glory.
