Feeling the cold gets worse as you grow older. I've been hibernating this last week

Found an hour to open the garage today for the first time in a few weeks.



Ticked off the coolant sensor issue, fitted new plug which clicks in perfectly and managed to fix the pins within the sensor itself which saved me having to remove the alternator to fit a new sensor. It’s reading in the ECU and has grounded the fans so looks to be working well.



My final task was to fit the innovate bung/02 sensor protector but after talking to the tuner we’ve agreed that the sensor location needs changing otherwise I’ll keeping going through expensive sensors.

As you can see current location is less than ideal. Basically the condensation can pool here easily and wreck sensor, I’ve gone through two.



Have spoken to Thermomet and they’ve said that if I move bung they can patch up the down pipe.

Will get it fitted here but won’t be until after Christmas, lost the will.

They are ok where I’ve marked but I’ll move it down slightly to make it easier to cut out the heat protection so it can be patched up by the thermomet gang.

I wish I had that sort of money @andybond - would be a sweet addition.

I’ve had a bit of a health scare this last month or so. I just haven’t had the motivation and this weather doesn’t help either

I have however managed to remove the down pipe and have the new 02 sensor bung welded in. I just need to send it off to thermomet to make good.



Last Sunday we tested the new water meth pump but it’s still no reaching the required pressure so this weekend we plan to investigate further.

It’s one of my stresses in life there if I die my wife sells my car for whet I told her I paid for it

It’s one of my stresses in life there if I die my wife sells my car for whet I told her I paid for it

As macabre as this all sounds we did end up discussing what would happen if did indeed die. How would she know how to sell my car was top of my agenda. Maybe I could trust you good folk to help her out

There would undoubtedly be vultures out there trying to buy it from her for £20 lol.

But it’s true - we have a will sorted already. We’ve started to make plans now in terms of us both being able to access each others bank accounts, insurance policies, pensions etc should the worse happen.

I’m 44 in two weeks - I shouldn’t be thinking about this stuff but I guess you never know.

One thing I will say though and as cliche as it sounds. We really have to make the most of each day we get. Spend quality time with loved ones and make plans to fulfil the bucket list. Definitely take life for granted until you realise you are not immortal.

I'm 2 years ahead and although in rude health generally, I had some blood pressure readings that were more like boost pressure last year - it makes you think doesnt it!

Everything I have would go to my kids, but I really should do a will, just in case a car falls on my head or something.



(EDIT: After typing that (innocently) and reading it back I realise that given "the incident" last year that may appear insensitve, however, I think he would have laughed about it, so i'm going to leave it and write this note )
(EDIT2: My kids wouldnt have a scooby what to do with the cars but I trust my closest buddies would see them right, and not vulture everything for a tenner)
