Marks RX7 - lets break a rotary.

Very pleased Andy, big step forward.

Just need to swap coolant temp sensor and fix the front windscreen washer which I think is an earth issue then I can get an MOT.

Okay, water temp sensor swapped.

Bit of a ballche as had to remove a shit load of stuff to get to it but somehow managed to swap it without losing all the coolant so that’s a result, I was expecting a mess.

It turns out I can run my front washer spray from my new 15 button keypad. Plan to wire that in this weekend and then good to go for MOT.

Have a fresh tune in my inbox from the mapper in AUS, he’s looked at the logs and said we were within 1.5% of target lambda with just the first tune. Amazing what this tuners can do on the other side of the planet.

All coming along nicely this week.

We have another 30 mins or so of driving on the engine and yesterday we were able to do a little bit more live tuning.

This weekend I need to rewire the rear fog light and somehow fix the front washer pump as I have an MOT booked for next Tuesday.

I have a slight coolant leak too which I need to resolve.

I’ve just purchased the Syvecs 100hz GPS module which allows the tuner to further fine tune the map as well as integrating into the traction control settings. He says he’s uses the GPS and accel sensors to dial in things like the ign timing the fuel excess as well as the boost. Sounds clever.

I hope we can reproduce our own version of this video soon.

In way of a little update.

A little bit more tuning has been completed but I need some new plugs now before continuing. Should be here Thursday.

We’ve solved the ECT and 02 sensor issues.

Sorted all of the leaks and properly bled system meaning our coolant pressure is good.

Put some fresh fuel in albeit some 97 but will switch up to 99 once I’ve burnt through this lot. (It doesn’t take long 😂)

Had an MOT today but beforehand I had to rewire this rear fog, all sorted.

Late last week I bought the Syvecs GPS module which add all sorts of funky stuff like G force, Yaw, roll etc. Tuners uses this for numerous purposes, traction control and even certain elements of ignition and fuelling. (Sounds clever) Should arrive Friday.

Finally I have a new MOT ticket today and some road tax. Game on!

Probably covered about 100miles which in my view is run in. Going to change oil and filter tomorrow.

We’ve been doing some road tuning.

A quick sneak peak of a 3rd gear pull, 3k to 8k rpm, 8.5psi.

This is just 8.5psi and limited to 8250 rpm currently, peak power will be 9250rpm and 29psi. 😂

Using the Syvecs software and wheel speed sensors we timed the 100-150kph to 3.3 seconds which frankly is absurd at such lower boost and rpm so the signs are good.

Although not a direct comparison my quickest 60-100mph on Dragy with my old set up was 3.87 seconds at 19psi.

I predict a sub 5 seconds 100-200kph at full power.

It spits massive flames pretty much on demand and I’ve already started melting the rear bumper.

I’m now waiting on GPS module loom which should arrive tomorrow. I can then fit that, the tuner wants me to take the car to weigh bridge to get an accurate with with me in it plus some fuel. Should be able to go to a local scrapyard for this.

20 litres of methanol is on order and my measuring jugs have arrived. This time next week I think we will be at full power.

GPS fitted, I can go and have a play with it this weekend. Also had to swap out to a new alternator as was having some voltage issues.

I’ve had to lose the 2 buttons on the centre console (1 was a blank) but one buttons was front fogs which I don’t have and the other rear heated screen which I don’t need and well #racecar so no big deal.

Black alternator looks a bit neater I think.

Also quite proud of my little Milwaukee spirit level. 😂

In other news we are already at 75% fuel duty so may need to up the primaries. We haven’t introduced the methanol just yet despite me taking a delivery of 20 litres last week.

More tuning this weekend. Will it still be alive Sunday ? Nobody knows. 😄🤔
