Marks RX7 - lets break a rotary.

I used a company near Gatwick to put on a ceramic coat on a manifold and downpipe and had nothing but grief since. They supply coated milltek exhausts but I have ended up wrapping them to get them engine bay temps down. I know an RX7 company near Blandford Forum he got his parts chrome treated which he seemed happy with

A nice early start yesterday to drive to Cambridge to collect the bits from Thermomet.

I came home all excited to fit but I ran in to a small oversight on my part. The change in lower inlet manifold for the semi PP set up means the downpipe is too close to one of the runners as it’s much thicker with the two extra runners. I think an exhaust manifold spacer will give me the 10mm or so I need, will hopefully have that Monday to try.

Temporarily fitted the front bumper today, (had a little helper too) needs a slightly better alignment but that can wait until after wiring is complete.

A few shots of Thermomets work.

A bit of an update on the upper inlet too. As with anything custom it’s never easy getting fitment perfect especially when the fabricator hasn’t got the car.

With this in mind version one wasn’t quite fitting correct as foiling ever so slightly on the alternator positive terminal. He’s now working on version two to adjust slightly to give clearance. However you get a good indication how it will look from the pictures.

The annotated pic is where I’m planning on positioning the WMI manifold/distribution block.

P.S- Going to Cerakote the upper and lower inlet. Had a quote of £350 from a local company.

Good news - manifold, down pipe and turbo all fit. Just !! By literally millimetres however the knock on effect is the wastegate flange may need changing to allow more room but I’ll get to that after the wiring has been completed.

I’m going to have the lower and upper inlet cerakoted and get rid of the blue hoses for black. It’s coming along nicely now, getting excited.

Nah that ain't close, there is plenty of room there

Well I’ve just spent a fucking daft amount of money on a dash today, I feel sick but need it for wiring and overall integration.

So basically wiring loom completed by Matt.

Fit this OE location 9 litre water meth tank. (Replaces stock rear wiper tank)

Plumb in VAC lines, sort two oil lines, plumb in water/meth.

Whack some coolant and oil in and start the bastard. 😂
