Marks RX7 - lets break a rotary.

Also took the car for it’s first MOT in my ownership. It failed on the two things I knew it would. The first being the fact I have no rear fog light but that can be remedied very simply and secondly the bit of rust I’ve got on the rear inner sill.

So I’ve got a few weeks to get the welding sorted, was thinking of using one of these mobile welders to do the job on my drive.

Ive used a mobile chap before, talked for fucking England but was on day rate. Cant see a problem as long as you get given a fixed price tbh. Was called miggys mobile welding.

Yeah i had no complaints on his work, i used him as another mate had for a sill repair on some old jap car at the time. Probably a good 6 or 7 years back now mind.

Not sure where Your located Mark, but i may have been able to do that welding.

Probably a bit different to a mobile welder. I have to do it as close as I can to how it left the factory.
Thanks for the offer Mark, I’m not massively fussed about it being OE besides it’s a just a tiny little hole that needs filling to get me a years ticket but at a later date I’d like to get the sills done properly.

Do you do that sort of work for a living @Mark_L ? As when the lock down eases I would happily travel especially if it’s only 40 miles.

Yes mate, been restoring cars for the last 25 years, makes me feel old saying that!

One of my current work projects.

Just can't not do it right. But I know where your coming from.

That does look handy, I would like a cage at some point in the future, would need to be a custom job as I’m not a fan of the off the shelf dash dodger cages that I’ve seen.

Dash dodger cages are a disaster In my opinion.

I only build bespoke cages suit the car and owner.

Did this for @Duncan Grier
Before.

Cage, modified the rad and cooler and some fibreglass work to make the nose look right and over the throttle body.
