To the dismay of many it’s a Chinese t28. I’m not going for mega boost so should be ok.

I was on honeymoon and my old Clio 16v I had owned came up for sale, I had to have it back so arranged that for collection when I was home £800. It was a non runner but complete.

Car collected one everning thanks to a friend with a truck. Luckily the car was not far which made me have to get it back more than anything.

A few weeks gone by and I started to strip it down

My plan is to swap engine from the blue one to this and fix the 1.8 from the Naples one and put in the blue one.

Got the car out side and gave it a hot jet wash with some truck wash. Happily it’s not too bad for rust in the engine bay at all.

Same treatment again for this one in the engine bay.

Time to start refiting the bay. I’ve fitted a 172 cup master cylinder and new brake lines

Time to get the blue one to new workshop and strip the engine out ready for transferral..

And now engine in to the Naples.
Have never done it in from the bottom before it was so much easier !

Took my turinis to the powder coaters. Nice dark anthracite kind of colour. Simaler to Clio 182 Trophy. Had a set of rainsport 3 fitted to them.

Wire wheeled the arches and inner arches back. Quite happy again, minimal rust. Gave them a coat of Buzzweld chassis in one.

Subframe and suspension fitting time with the 172 suspension along with radiator and a few other parts.

Filled the gearbox with oil and it’s started leaking out of the passenger side boot, took it apart and found the seal had flipped. When I bought the 172 shafts the boot had come off, it must have not seated proper so I took it off and sorted that. Only had a jubilee to reseal it, but as it doesn’t spin with the shaft, it has an internal bearing, it won’t be an issue.

Filled the radiator next with some lovely type D from Renault.

some real tidy work in here. nice attention to detail and renault parts bin robbing what sorta power will you be going for?

The chinese blowers seem ok on low boost setups. The naples red 16v looks great
