Delorean LS1 Engine Conversion Swap

I found this very interesting, knowing that some of use have UN1 gearboxes

I do believe that the PRV V6 was originally designed as a V8 hence its wide V and odd fire on the early versions, so as the piece reports the DeLoren has an engine that should of had.

Gearbox is "only" seeing 350lbs/ft torque tho, that seems to be about the limit for the boxes.

Well mines still in 1 piece and similar (slightly lesser) spec engines make 400-420 lbs.

Any adapter-plates / Kits available that you know of? Imagine a Corvette powered 21
Whilst browsing a bit, I even found DaveL485 in a Kitcar-Forum (about GT40's) . Kitcars are really cool, but not worth to try to get it streetlegal in Luxembourg. I have an unfinished project since 1997, a left hand-drive Gemini Kitcar, PRV V6 mated to a Peugeot 5 speed gearbox (that was pretty much easy, just 2 small DIY brackets) sits in my Garage for nearly 20 years now...

As far as I know, the PRV was designed as a V8 but they cut 2 cylinders because of the oil-crisis in the 70s.

Yeah thats me, I used to lurk looking for information and uprated bits.

Yes you can get adaptor plates, i'll get you a pic on Friday of one. My mate has a V8 in his GT40 mated to a UN1.

I've got a whole new 1 piece bell housing to a cosworth engine.
As used in RS200 kit cars (that's essentially what mine is in a Renault 5 shell.)

Where did you get this bellhousing?

I Bought it already on the gearbox, this is where it came from.

There was a run of them produced, a few years ago.

This is a GT40 rep I was working on Friday with a UN1, R30 bellhousing and an adapter plate to the V8 lump

Yeah, finally found the right kit

Would be interesting, but i recently spend some money on a meg3Rs front axle, brembo's and gearbox with LSD to convert the GT220. So not for the moment
