Loltus Exige

Sadev do the driveshafts , whereas Quaife fit OOTB.

Exactly - however have the possibility to use GPS too

How is a gear indicator LED £500? Madness!

The DSG doesnt interest me TBH in this car. I want the drama of a physical push pull rather than a set of paddles. It might be slower but I need to do the sequential thing
I feel you on the DSG front. Despite their obvious advantages it just isn’t the same as pulling on a big dong. 😂

Thought I had found something of interest to you, a mate has acquired 3 Quaife Transaxles for the Elise, these were made by Quaife for a licencee, but I think that must be over as there is no parts availability for these now, He is now looking at parts manufacture to get these sorted. Deep joy.

there's nothing to stop you adding a stick and/or paddles with dsg, just putting it out there if that was the main issue
I appreciate the comment Adey. A DSG just isn’t mechanical enough for me. I felt sonewhere disengaged with the whole driving experience with my c63. I need to feel something clunk , or hear a mechanical sound to keep the rawness.

That is not an enviable position to be in!

What age Elise? The early ones were PG1 Boxes, mine is a c64.

Is the Merc C63 an actual DSG though? Don't know well but did not think was a true DSG.....could be very wrong

Even DSG need software to bring fully alive

But all still never a patch on true full seq 💪💪💪

I was having a nose around a ph1 clio running the Beckert sequential the other night. Unfortunately, the lad has been plagued with clutch disengagement dramas and still hasn't got to the bottom of it.

However, when it's getting used at full tilt 😍 .

I have heard they can be a 'mare to get setup and are poor around town or when cruising. Like you said though when on it , there is nothing like it

Its dryish - I havent fixed the problem. Its better, but not perfect. Ill take apart the TB this evening and whip it all apart to check I have everything on correctly and in place.

I have reset the quadrant by loosening and then tightening the nut that holds the spindle on.

I also removed the MAP and gave it a good clean. Post clean the revs were erratic but have since calmed down.

I need a splash of fuel so will call into the station tomorrow evening and go from there.

TL:DR Its still not working. Differently , but still not working.

Its doing this now :

If I ever so slightly tap the throttle it drops to a high idle, but it drops never the less.

I have unclipped the throttle cable from the quadrant and it still does it. I feel its software related so broke out the laptop , can to usb and fired up SXTune.

Of course SXTune needed an update :)

There are two settings I can play with that really affect the idle.
1) The Idle air valve position %

If I lower these figures across the board the idle subsides. It never quite gets low enough , but down to 1100rpm from 1300+

2) Overrun cutoff lower and upper limit. If I drop these and keep them roughly the same the idle also drops. However the overrun is activated.

When I have reduced the idle air valve position the revs tend to settle better.

I best take this over the RSTuning to take a look!

Could need a tweak now if it was always faulty/failing? Quick visit to Paul should see it wrapped up. Might as well fire some more upgrades at it first though...

Yeah, that’s exactly my thought Adey. Was knackered before.

Could always cheat I guess and disable the IACV and use enrichment tables for when it’s cold?
