To confirm this car is a Cat D car ?, as per salvage advert at start of this thread ? Are you legally obligated, as the seller, to tell the purchaser of cat d registration or is it a case of, buyer should make there own investigations to find out and if they don't tough luck.

Still awaiting parts from MC Racing France, must be an old ad youve found. At that point the car was pre write off, i would always advise a customer if a vehicle being sold was previously written off and provide images pre and during repair its only fair but there are lots of trade and private sellers that dont operate as honestly as some. It is always a case of buyer beware and do your homework before you buy.

What would one find if one did an HPI check?

it would give you info like mileage at certain dates, any plate changes, amount of owners, if stolen,insurance write off, chassis no check etc etc

Thanks, but what I meant was "will it show up as a CAT D (or C) on the HPI check"?

Not sure i think it gives total loss and date paid out. Normally cat c shows on the v5 document
