Megane Inferno 3 door phase one 225

Fookin' likely .......nine months of watching, bidding, offering, general fart skinning.....
Shocks, tops, bushes, anti rotation links, TRE's were a 200 quid cheeky punt, rest is experienced part number shopping, Amazon, bookface, eBay, you name it search it.
I once bought an Alpine GTA V6 turbo Valeo 3 piece clutch from Amazon for £36......seek and thou shalt find ...
All gone to shit today anyway as M10's I bought for lower ballpoint casting plate are wrong thread, ordered correctly but never checked them......fookin' 1.25 pitch instead of 1.5, gutted

Correct bolts turned up this morning, not gonna lie, I had face on when they weren't here when I got home from work Friday, poor Mrs Turbell, mumpy mumpster sat on settee.......
Got in it this afternoon, built both sides up, just pads to go in, flush some fluid through and then drop it on its wheels, see what's what, I'll leave arch liners off until all lights / washers are checked, then it can fuck off out of my garage.....

Swivels centres seen good, a little variance in diameter, only a thou or so either way, so I've used the smallest and one of the biggest to see how they feel, no different, when greased and fitted up.

It's alive!

Fitted pads, front wheels and dropped it off stands it's been on for over four months, couldn't flush front brakes cos Spadger couldn't squeeze in door, it's tight to wall on one side, bike on other, I can just about squeeze in, but he's 6'4 and fourteen stone.
Sounds as sweet as a nut , clutch feels spot on.
Ran it on stands in all gears, need to check all fluids as it wasn't on level, so I just banged a gallon of oil in lump and a couple in box.
Is the cooling circuit self bleeding or is there a bleed on these?
Needs a hose off and I'll tidy up, bottom out rest of bits and bobs
Happy bunny so far.

One on heater hose and one on stat housing ?
I had a quick look but couldn't see stat one, heater hose rings a bell, think I saw it when engine bay was more stripped out.

This weekend I tackle rear brakes, heading towards getting a test on it before I do any cosmetics.
Stood and wondered whether to crack on and fit R26 rear beam, I knew I'd have to get bigger bearing discs, but hoped I could swap phase one calipers and carriers over, with rear ones car off it's pretty clear this isn't gonna work, cast ears that carriers bolt to look different, so current thought is crack on with getting car on the road and build R26 beam up complete, borrow a lift and do a straight swop.
I'd hooked a couple of TRW phase one refurbished calipers for 50 quid, gave them a coat of thunder grey to match fronts and popped pistons out and made sure they were well lubed.

Old verses new, carriers had four hours apiece in the tank, looked like Roman artifacts before, reworked faces and painted them same.

Discs and pads were recent, so they had a clean up and deglaze, whoever had fitted them hadn't done owt other than slap them on, slider pins were gunked up, no grease anywhere, calipers springs stuck fast in body.
Brake shitbox uncovered some better pins and two pre loved springs, I'll give disc centres you see with wheels on a coat of something when fresh wheels go on.
Whip round with eazibleed, anyone for oxtail soup...?

Not sure what correct order bleed is on these, or if it's necessary to use clip on a system that hasn't been fully dry? But I got round them all with 750ml of Castrol React dot 4 I had, might need another run through, I don't think pedal goes rock hard on newer stuff , Slaguna didn't, but I might be wrong?
I'll leave H/B cables off until it's had a blast round block to make sure rears pads are settled and then connect them up and adjust.
Coolant bled, box topped up now it's on level, about 50ml before it started running out after I'd already put 2l in on stands..... that'll keep me awake buying 3l .....
Tightened front bearings up, get stands, string and tape measure out next and and do a rudimentary tracking session, need keycards sorting before test as the only one I have needs a bend to work, I don't trust MOT man not bust it, or leave it in car and it lock itself or something daft right now, think it's got history for that as when I bought car, he shit himself when I left it in the slot and shut door to look round it......
It's getting there now, starting to relax a bit, heats off.

Bleed in sequence on these so you get a good solid pedal. Abs block may need bleeding with clip if the pedal was not wedged down before removing lines. I had to put 3ltrs through my kangoo with a pressure bleeder to get a good pedal from dry so use the cheapest fluid going.

I put blanks in when I dropped rears off, fronts were just off and straight back on to get brackets clear that hoses pass through on front struts.
I peeled front dust seals back and decided against striping front calipers as they looked OK, didn't want to bother with them if they looked something like, otherwise it gets never ending.
Someone has refurbished them at some point.
I was still getting little tiny bubbles at back, but as I was short on fluid I did a lap round first to get them OK to keep car moveable, fronts bled absolutely clear from anything.
When more fluid arrives I'll do them again, I assume ABS takes care of pressure load on rears? I.E. you can reduce pressure having a car with rear limiter if you jack rear, not so on a 225 ?
Sequence O/S rear, N/S rear,N/S front, O/S front?
Thanks for your input, as ever, I appreciate it.

Abs regulates the pressure iirc. Id have to look in the manual to find the sequence, give it a couple of laps with the pressure bleeder on it will soon come to life.

Gave it another round of pressure bleeding, another litre through it, plenty of air out of o/s back, pedal still crap, road test round the block and triggered ABS, but they're shit.
Had clip hooked up but can't find function to open ABS, I assume it's on lefthand options, feels like it doesn't scroll down enough as I can see other options that look related.
Other than brakes it goes well, picks and gets gone well, steering feels odd cos tracking is all over the shop, but a quick blat and it opens up smooth, no lights on now.
Brakes are stumping me now though, pumping pedal brings them up the inch or so of travel, so it still seems like air to me.
Got mump on now......
