5 GT Turbo Ignition Issue Phase 2 1990

Hey guys , Currently owning a ph.2 GTT trying to save it . So the thing is .. I have an issue when trying to boost . It’s like something cuts off and holds the car not to boost . First thought was the fuel pump which I changed it along with the fuel filter.
I did have a repaired carb , sparks , leads ,dizzy cap and rotor , alternator (silicone hoses and stuff)etc.
So after a small ride ,the car after it gets hot it misfires and even stalls and you can’t start it up again . It cranks but won’t start .
So after this , the car cranks starts and immediately shuts down .
Any thoughts ? Would it be the AEI UNIT , or the bottom part of the distributor ??
Thanks in advance

I'd be inclined to force the car to run. Connect battery positive to the +ve on the aei and battery negative to the -ve on the aei. If there is fuel in the float chamber of the carb and the car cranks, then it should stay running. Are you using the choke? I mean the carb could still be blocked up tbh.

Should I leave the three plugs on the aei when I connect it to the battery ? Also above the 3 plugs on the aei there is something which I guess is earth. But there isn’t any cable connected from this to the chassis.

I would try with bridging your fuel pump relay ( cartier unit - under the dash ) to rule that out. Mine did a similar thing.

Then its the AEI as you pointed out.
Here’s what happens , I do hear the pump when the car is bridged yellow to white on the plug, but I don’t hear the pump when relay is on , only when car starts pump worked . When you just turn the ignition on you don’t hear pump sound

Thats normal, fuel pump does not activate unless the engine is cranking or running

Disconnected fuel line from carb , when you crank it you get only 2 drops of fuel or even less in the bottle that I put it in

I hear the pump . Maybe the regulator ?

Yeah pump might be dead. Bridge the relay and run the carb feed pipe into a bottle to check its not power. Pull pipe pre reg and check flow there.

Yellow to white again a just wait for it to squirt to the bottle ? I’m curious cause the pump is almost new but I’ll double check it , it’s too noisy tho
