idle problem any help please?

when i start my car it idles all over the place dieng in revs and bouncing bak up agen it only ndoes it for the first 3 mins then it idles fine but as soon as i shut the engine of i get the same agen even tho the engines warm. ive changed the idle control valve and now i dont have a clue and ideas asap as its in mot now and it faild? thanks

could be the coolant temp sensor.

sounds like most peoples car`s do this lol... must be standerd from new

sounds like lambda sensor mate, had same problem with mine, idle drops real low for a few secs like blugh blugh blugh barely running then jumps to like over 3k rpm then repeats itself. although i found fault would make up its own mind when it would occur,i.e. no pattern. lambda sensor sorted problem a treat, bout £40 easy to fit as long as its not seized and you dont shag the threads,both happened to me but sorted it in the end! hope that helps dude..
