I need help quick with this as it will determine whethere i keep this or sell it.Th elittle oval plate on the engine bay states its an R1223,but the Renault original stamp under the seat states its an r122b??The car doesnt have a boost gauge, did they always come standard with one??
Car has discs all round, anything else help me identifying if its turbo or not?

The chassis number would be the one to go for. R122B is the Renault 5 Alpine Turbo. R1223 is the Renault 5 Alpine atmo. Maybe someone has used the oval plate from a spares car for some reason.

Try phoning the DVLA with the chassis number. They are very helpful. There is an online search - google for 'dvla vehicle status' which lets you type in a reg number and manufacturer but the reg number you posted last time was another car.

Thanks for that. One other thing thats odd is theres no boost gauge, did all turbos come with a boost gauge? I think from memory its a voltage meter there just now (a renault standard one)
