How (not) to make your Dauphine Handle

It's still got the Little 1400 in it about 135bhp . Then it gets the 180bhp 1700 . Right now I'm flitting all my stuff out , I'm getting there slowly, but don't have long term accommodation for the car as yet. That is the immediate problem I have to solve in the coming weeks. This is the main reason for not pulling it to bits.........

Learning stuff on Turborenault
I had noticed in Loads of @Adey 's pics there are a pair of low lift ramps. I didn't think too much of them at first, then when discovering my trolley jack just catches on my jackup points on the Dauph (it's a bit lower than the 8) soI bought a set.
Why didn't I think of this before, it's amazing how much access that 40mm gives you in a good safe way . If you don't have any , get some, what a difference!
Best till last. My ramp wont roll under the car easily, but use the ramps and it's dandy.
Never too old to learn...........

Next up The noise is driving me mad in the car. It's just a big echo chamber, so used the prybar on the wallet and bought these..

Superb ear defenders and comfy too.

This is why the GT Turbo conversion is much nicer on a Roadcar, the same urge, no racket, better point to point acceleration. It just lacks controllability on the edge, but you don't drive like that on the road anyway. 20 years of competing taught me that......
Happy motoring while you still can...

And now for something completely different
Behind the Scenes people have been beavering away on Roller Rocker sets for the R5Gord/Alpine head and the R8 Gordini head..........

If you are interested please get in touch.. Trying to gauge interest for the Developer...

I was part of a group buy for some roller rockers for the C1J…

Destroyed my engine.. when the needle rockers fell out of the bearings and broke a tooth off my Camshaft driving the Dizzy drive…

Be careful…

The C1J rockers are so dainty I'm struggling to imagine how there was enough room for the roller mech, perhaps this was the issue. I'd like some with a higher ratio. There is experimentation with larger cam followers ongoing to allow more radical profiles to be used , it's a long slow process with many potential pitfalls along the way.

I'm now curious. Did lots of them fail? Just one, I am wary of them in general as I use very Aggressive profiles, but turbo motors have much more friendly profiles, so would lend themselves to roller rockers for long life.... Where were they made???
