Highly Polished Exhaust Manifold Heatshields Round 2

Right I am just gauging the interest in making some more of the exhaust heatshields. I will need a minimum of 10 who have paid a £20 deposit each before I order the material. This is the same as last time as I'm not putting my money on the line for people to drop out lol. The total cost of the heatshield is £30 with the option of 1st class recorded delivery for an extra £9 or can collect from me or I can bring them to meets etc.

Before I go any further I would like to point out a few things from last time.

Got mine today thanks.

Not fitted it yet but i do have a few small comments if you dont mind.

1. the weight, its got to be at least twice the weight of the original
2. There is only 1 hole to mount it on with and the original has another 2 at the bottom, can one be made to the exact shape as the original so it can be screwed on correctly? I think it will rattle quite a bit unless i pad it out with some foam tape.

Its a nice thing though good quality metal work, if a tad expensive

Glad you got it fella and sorry i did not point out it was heavier but the original is made of some aluminium coated foam sh*t so compared to the stainless steel it will be lighter so sorry for not pointing that out.

The mount hole i specifcally did not use 3 bolt holes as the bottom two are a basterd to get at and the one that i have used is sufficent. as Gardner 51 says it does not vibrate on idle or normal/spirited driving so that is why i only used the one. Also not being funny when i say this but the original pics that i showed in the first page clearly show only one mounting hole.

If you are generally not happy with it mate then i will refund you the £30 if you send it back to me and it is in the same condition as when i sent it out as i have had other people enquire about them and had to turn them away due to not having anymore material.

Also it is still cheaper than a genuine renault heatshield and in my personal opinion is a lot nicer looking.

Thanks for all comments guys keep them coming

Cheers Dan

P.S if there are any of you interested in me making some more up then let me know and if there is enough people i will try and get a smaller sheet if the numbers are not that big.

Below are a few picks of the finished article.

IMO these are so much better than the one i originally made up as i have put a slot in it for more adjustment. Radiuses on the corners so you dont cut yourself and bent up with a machine so the bends are a lot neater. I have also purposely not put a radius where the slot is as when you do the heatshield up with the original nut there is enough give in the material for it to take shape.

Also I will trial fit EVERY HEATSHIELD to ensure it fits and does not hit. They do rest against the brake fluid tank but do not vibrate or make any noise whilst driving normally/spirited or on idle when the engine is running.

Right these are the people that are interested atm. (Need to confirm they still are as this list is a bit old lol).

1. Rich clio 16v
2. Excudo
3. Stuart
4.karlosfandago
5.Ghostvalver
6. mike blue 16 valver
7. Dashwood
8. dimo16v2

only slight worry is, would the heat that this shield will conduct/hold melt the brake fluid rezzy,or heat up the brake fluid, niether would be great, would it be possible to bend the shield away, just enough so it doesnt touch,

i really want one of these shields, but its a bit worrying with that touching on the rezzy

right why is this in general chat?

also its also been clearly established that it fits only clios.
