Going Racing 2015

Any others coming to this?

I'll be down on the Saturday - What time can we get into the Hatch Dave?

Unfortunately, I've not managed to drum up any interest over here in the east, so just me coming along.

Billy me!

You can get in whenever you like , gates open early as first qualifying session is at 9am.
Soon as we get a timetable, will put on here. We will be there around 7-30, getting all set up, scrutineered etc.

Cheers Dave - I'll get there for 8.45ish then.

See you then.

Sadly not, we have the French trip looming next week so it's all hands to prepping for that!

230bhp is the quoted figures.
No penalties apart from the uproar from the Clio boys, so he has been put in my class with all the other misfits .( Even though I have a genuine car)

You got to love racing B/S

Not really Dave but hey ho.... turbo cars eh!!
Always been a bit of a no win situation with the build we did.
If it made the power we all hoped for, there would have been unhappy racers. If it didn't make the power I would be unhappy after all the work we put in.
Turns out to be the latter but we are going to give it a go. watch tis space :)

Cheers for that Dave - gives me plenty of time to give ol Fluffy a clean before getting down then.
Bloody Clio's with there amazing handling etc.

A great weekend, good to catch up with Andy. pleased he got to see car go well with the new set up.
FRIDAY
Arrived at the track Friday 3pm to set up, get everything ready and check front geometry so we have a relaxing Saturday morning before Qually.
Started car to get up to temperature and make sure no leaks, dramas etc. Would not run for decent time before it cut out, We changed the master kill switch thinking this was the problem, wrong......4hrs later we had it running properly.
The original wiring from the fan/thermostat was backfeeding somewhere causing the ECU to cut out.
RACE DAY
Arrived at track 7-30 to do al the things we didn't do Friday, everything done and waiting for Qualifying 11am.
Got on track, car felt crisp and quickly got into it and starting to push on, the 3rd lap engine cuts out.......coasted to a safe place and composed myself, checked everything and started her up, everything good ,so off we go and re-join the session. We are flying and overtaking everything, bit of a misfire and hesitation at times but ok.
2/10ths away from my best ever time 56.3 and 4th on the grid. Well chuffed.
Played with the wiring again to see if we can sort the misfire and ready for race 1.

RACE 1
Made a good start getting to 3rd on the second corner, then the red light/flags came out. Massive start line shunt after a car stalled on the grid and got rear ended. 8 minute delay clearing cars and debris from track. Thankfully both drivers ok, although both cars probably write offs.
Restart, pretty much kept position as front three to fast, only 7 lap race so pretty quick for everyone.
Happy with 4th place and best time of 56.4

Race 2
Sitting on grid waiting for the warm up lap and car cuts out. I restart it and call a Marshall over to tell him to watch me as car has just stalled. I am now shitting myself, thinking of the previous start line pile up!!!
Get to the grid and revving the nuts off the car as don't want it to stall. We get way with loads of wheel spin and lose a place. Car is awful, popping and banging, hesitating, totally cut out at one point coming out of a corner and fired me across track when it picked up again. Bloke behind think I'm a nutter..... he gets past as were struggling and then few laps later loads of smoke, not sure if tyre smoke or oil as only when I went round corner. Suddenly realised it was oil when going into Surtees a left hander and backend very lively.
Backed right off, lost another position and coasted home for a couple of laps to finish.
Finish 6th and best time 56.6.
The bottom jubilee from the sump to breather had came off throwing oil everywhere. Tyres were covered, lucky to have kept it on the black stuff really....

A great first outing after all the work we put in. Couple little jobs before we head to Thruxton in June.

Could have been a lot worse considering the lack of testing mate. Good to hear both the drivers involved in the crash were OK.
