GAZ coilovers

I used mine in the alps... Adjusted the setting and they felt ok, but in my oppinion I'm not yet convinced they are that good... Once the 21 is back I'll be testing them more, and may actually take the car to GAZ and let them drive it have a drive to see what they think...

In hein-sight maybe I shoudl of gone to someone like Tein and splashed out some serious money for top quality stuff.....

The biggest problem I have had is on roads with hidden dips. The recoil seems to be in-adequate as the car feels like it comes of the ground..

It may be that O need to adjust them somewhat... We'll see in the next few months...

Hidden dips is my problem, it's Amrits problem too, he keeps jumping out on him when he least expects it ;)

Seriously tho, that's exactly my issue.....and speed bumps too, no matter what speed they just feel empty.

I've had gaz on three cars now and would never get them for the 21, there ok for playing on the odd track day but for the road they are useless in this country, the roads are too rough, the best i have driven on are bilsteins with eibach springs on a turbo2 for the road.

Bilsteins with Eibachs are perfect. I had them on the M3, came to a grand all in but ?400 difference over the Gaz for the 21 is well worth paying.

Trouble is, GAZ won't give us our ?600 back and as result of this thread we got no chance of selling second hand lol

Phil, if u do drive over to see Gaz, let me know and I'll try n come with you

Nothing from anywhere, however it's not difficult to approach a firm and enquire. Bilstein and KW would be my first option, especially as Bilstein made the Europacup kit.
After all, anything can be made it just depends on budget.

Due to their customer service I'm going to pursue Gaz until satisfied, Mark the technician was miffed yet eager to put it right so.....over stiff doesn't bother me, it's not a Lexus and I don't pretend it ever will be, I have a welded sunroof and no interior......it can be stiff yet supple. No excuse for crashiness.

My 172 is on Eibachs and tired tad shocks and it's so much more comfortable.

Have any of you used the complete quadra kit, or just the fronts? I asking becuase they sent me rear springs that haven't got a chance to fit. that seems a bit strange if they have delivered springs for a quadra before.

Hi, did you go down to GAZ in the end and also, did you get a chance to chat with them about my rear springs?

finally got to go to gaz today, put my car on the ramp and had a look, it turns out that the body of the strut is too long so it is hitting the bump stop, hence the bottoming out. so i got to take them off and they are going to reduce the strut height buy 1.5-2 inch so that will give it more travel and hopefully solve the problem

sas you have pm

Hi John - Does this mean that we all have the same problem ? And will they be willing to do the same for everyone else ?

I don't see why not , if yours have the same problem, I think the best thing to do is I'll get mine done and make sure they are ok and then everyone else sort there's out too. So the plan is I'm going to India on Wednesday and will be dropping them off before I go and should be ready when I get back on the 9th
