5 GT Turbo Fluffy

Looks good, reminds me of the front bumper and big 'cooler you were running when I first met you around 2006! lol. Still rocking phase 1 front suspension fella? Good luck with the MOT, mines due in about 2 months, ol' blue at least needs a sill, - doh!

Mot this morning - started pretty worryingly. got to the mot station and the car starts to over heat, blows the expansion and fan's not kicking in. I'd just taken it for a tame drive round the back roads to burn off any of those 'newly assembled' smells which might have worried the tester.

Luckily, Ross was on hand with his mobile toolbox - AKA -RED and I soon had the relay checked etc and it was the fuse holder which had lost it's fuse, so a nice easy fix. I'll need to sort that.

MOT - passed with a 'slightly noisy exhaust' as an advisory - on with Booking up for the FCS now. Well chuffed.

great stuff, everyone elses seems to be coming together and mine has hit a brick wall ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Niceone Andy, a little unexpected drama however glad fluffy is sorted! How did red fair?

Cheers Karl - Red is through also, was a bit of a challenge for him to be fair, and he got done in 4 hours what I would have been fannying around with for about 2 months to get it through. I'll let him tell you about it. I'm in a bit of a quandary as to give the passenger side 1 last go before the FCS. I'm pretty sure I can't make it look worse.

Got let down last minute by painter - looks like I'll be having another go myself.

Anyway - all flatted again, and primer on where I've rubbed through in places, masked up and ready for a bit of flatting with 200 dry then 600 wet on the primed areas then scotch guard everywhere feathering out from the rear of the front wing to the front. I'm painting in cellulose as it's the only paint I have ever used and I'm using a non conventional spray gun, which dispite it's crappy looks has served my dad very well with his 61' Minx.

I'll post up as we go.

And I shit you not - my dad has had some very HQ finnishes out of the same gun.

3 coats - all's good.
very orangy peelie, but that's not an issue with Celly. I'll experiment tomorrow with another 3-4 coats thinning out towards the end and hopefully no runs. if it still aint anywhere near it's getting colour sanded as per my friend Pete.
