5 GT Turbo Fluffy

I'm still here - just as Dave said with very little time and even less money now hahhaaaaa.

As we stand - I've got the engine in and running, she runs fine and roughly mapped for 18psi which is very rough, I'm keeping it down to 14-16 for the time being. Now I've found a water leak somewhere where I need to get the time to look into, then once that's done, plan my trip to Scoffs to get the map as it should be for that set-up.

I'm still reading posts on here from day to day and feeling like I'm missing a large part of my life now, especially with the Euro-trip coming up. But I'll be there at out ND and also one or 2 other key events. @Tnt nick if you want to come to ND - feel free to jump in with me as I read you're leaving the fold.

Welcome to the next 5-10 years of your life (depending on how forgiving your mrs is lol) :) Totally worth it when you look back though. Which is easy for me to say as i'm out the other side of "the dark times" :D LOL

MOT time next weekend, so I thought I'd have a poke around for the pesky small water leak at the pump end of things only to find these ----

So much for mapping on the open road LOL, 16psi is all he's having for the time being - off to Scoffs to get him running at optimal. 18 psi max on this turbo as that was it's sweet spot.

Fair do's :D I was going to say the o.e discs are a lot cheaper than buying new 285's. Mine are both run on minimum spendage every year lol

I did what everybody did back in the day Jon, followed like sheep etc. Seems like if you look around nowadays, a lot of oe stuff was more than upto the job, especially when you spend a bit more on pads etc. So, I will be going back to oe at some point (probably when my pads need replacing) and I'm sure I've got a fair number of disks kicking around also - I just didn't have the time to look for them in one of my many R5 treasure troves.

Fluffy did well, straight through the mot no problems, and a renewal quote of £113 all in value agreed insurance. Great news on a mega Budget year.

Was out on Saturday morning bedding in the new disks and pads, still great, even unmapped and seriously down on power. :D

OK - got an unknown engine back in Fluffy and had been wondering if there were a fruity cam in there before mapping at the end of August.

Going off the amount of thread showing, what do you guys think???

Good call - @TNT Mr Raider - you're up again LOL.

Cheers for the photo Adey - I'd seen that on FB and couldn't see it again. I think it was @Briggsy that said it looked like a cammy cam. I'm not sure, it would be great for Karl to post his up and Briggsy to do the same..........

Hold on a minute!

I have my old Rocker assembly with my CatCams adjusted tappets on it - I'll go take a peak........

This is my 285 one ......

I'm going with standard on that one Andy. I'll check the 9 later, which I know is standard.

Don't forget head skims can change that adjustment level too, can't they?!

Have been thinking about this since looking at @Adey rocker pic the other day. Ill get a pic of the vans, i know the nuts are right at the top of the adjuster - only on a couple of turns and its hard to even hold the top of the adjuster - so i will say it looks like stock cam on the current one fitted in yours @TNT Andy

Do a pmt swap for your cat cam in situ before mapping:)
