Ok, so both splines are out, but after picking up on something Dave said, I think I may have a problem.

The rear arms don't simply drop. I need to get a bottle Jack above the disk to push the rear trailing arms down a couple of inches. Am I too assume that the rear arms should freely move up and down??

The arms wont move freely unless the shockers are disconnected, and then in my experience they need a decent shove to move. What rear shockers have you got?

Shocks are disconnected Jon, I think all is as it should be after talking to a few people. I'll crak on on Thursday and have me owd 5 monster truck back in the game.

Rear Torsion bars back in - sitting pretty high in the garage, I'll get the Fluff out on Saturday and take some pics, looks too high now. After mapping I'll be dropping it down -35mm as a happy medium.

I 'think' from top of the centre cap on the disc to underside of fibreglass arch is 330mm for standard height at rear when jacked up Andy.

Gtts always look best with a bit of rake

Sounds about right that does, i'll probably leave the rear where it is and drop the front a little after mapping.

Well a couple of things

1 - Thanks to Mr Raider for the shout out in my quest for -35mm springs - I'll be seeing you on Thursday buddy.
2- In prep for Mapping on Saturday, I've been checking a couple of things and found 1 or 5 leaks on the boost circuit. Rectifying as we speak, with my home made pikey pressurising system. pump it up listen for hissing and spray with soapy water - you'd be amazed!



Oh - and I managed to get a bit of Turbo in on Saturday night - Class.

Last night, re checked head bolts, valve clearance and flatted and polished the worst ever paint job on the nearside of Fluffy and possibly made it worse lol.

I'll let you know how I got on with sealing the boost leaks tonight. I think a new I/c is in order.

How much pressure have you had in the boost cct? I chickened out at 2.5 bar on my setup, the hoses were starting to swell then the bung flew out and put a dent in the wing ha

only 12psi Jon - I'm struggling with what I have and available time - the leak is minuscule, and under normal conditions I'm sure wont be a issue. I had it up to 50psi when I 1st built it with no leaks. Go figure???

Not sure - but I'll see it when being mapped - if it's an issue - it'l be off.

A bit of bad news I'm affraid - I've had to cancel mapping, along with a couple of other things this coming weekend due to my other half struggling with a long term illness. However, this gives me a chance to sort out 2 problems I've got:-

1 - The custom exhaust support under the bottom engine mount has snapped, so I need to have a look at that and re-work it.

2 - the Cosworth I/C has sprung a few minuscule leaks which I have managed to pikely reduce even further, but it ain't air tight. I've stripped her out .....



And am now looking at ..........

to replace it.

This one would give me 2x the amount of core area which I'm sure would be more than up to the job. My only concern is with the pipe sizes, these ones are at 2.5 inch whereas 2.25 is more where I'm at at the moment. Is this gonna cause any issues???

I'm going to have to remove the front part of the x-member only, have this sitting on top and running both in and out to the same side getting rid of the need to squeez up past the alternator.

Looks like a similar intercooler to mine. Mine has 75mm od outlets, just used a reducer to 51mm.

Did you have 51mm pipework or did you just step down at the turbo outlet and the carb?

Hmmmmm - interesting, your's does get a move on also. The civic boys seem to go smaller on the hot side than the cold, this must be on monster bhp applications.

Oh - btw - is this on the van?

I go from two to three inch from Turbo to IC, then back to 2.5 for the plenum chamber. This means the charge moves slower across the intercooler, which I think is a good thing as it will spend longer in there and hence be cooler on exit.

Is that internal or external pipework sizes ?
