Glad to hear its getting some tlc, felt that it was a good base for a project but the main thing for me was that I didn't want to end up painting it but looks like I'll end up doin that to this white one, ah well. Regards the paint, which is what I did consider, if you just want red and not bothered what shade the stick to solid 2pk. There's many brands but I was gonna use Churchill as I can get 5ltrs of 3 colours, ford radiant red, white or black for about ?40, as to the normal ?32 a ltr of max mayer availiable in all colours. It's nice and thick so alot of thinners can be used to make it flow without causing runs. I would also recommend to using expensive thinners and hardener as it helps the paint settle nicer and shine for longer.

I have already bought the paint its solid matched 2pk, no idea how good the thinners and hardners are but resprayed 5 cars past 8 years and used same brand with good results, 3.5l red paint was about ?70ish alone, ?130 with thinners, tape, wipes etc...

If it works for you then stick to it. Good price tho. Look forward to seeing the result

Yeah, I'd like that, my first 21 n all lol. Only reason I didn't do it is that I wanted a white one, but once again on hold. Building my 5 back up to sell on and just bought an old Trafic for work so sortin the niggles on that, it will be done by summer tho.

Yeah the starter did look pretty new but the engine leaks oil on to it so I assumed the excess oil has burnt it out
