5 GT Turbo F4Rt - hopefully the correct decision

In a nut shell either goes on without any fight or 4 hrs later you accept defeat.....:(

Spare input shaft will def help and give confidence it will go on

Slides on spot on when box is off but trying to line it up by eye even with a so called clutch alignment tool was a nightmare. As soon as you tighten cover up it would seem that the teeth would move ever so slightly that meant it just wouldn’t go past the first splines on closest plate.

This should be with me Tuesday with any luck and should help massively.

You really do need a proper primary shaft to align a twin plate, although an alignment tool will get the plates central it does not align the splined shaft, you need to have both plates central and have the teeth in the same place or it wont go in - I bet thats why you cant get past the 2nd plate. It's a 2-way alignment, not one, like a single plate.

Exactly that Dave, just had to give up in the end. I’m sure the input shaft winging its way to me will do the trick.

Ive got a ClioSport JC box with a 3rd gear crunch if thats any good?

I have a R19TD box too but I was going to lob that in my 9.

Im after a LSD mate not stock open diff.
It’s quite amusing @Brigsy as everyone fully expects for my box to shit itself quickly so I’ve had quite a few ask for dibs on the diff if it survives. 😂

It will either go bang rapidy or last forever. Turbo Ted had one hang in there for ages proper luck of the draw !

I’m hoping I can get it all up and running and mapped before the summer is out and that It can last at least a few months. Ill happy with that but Robbie did tell me once how his JB3 lasted quite a while at high power/torque.

I just set the clutch cable up which turns out was fitted incorrectly from a long time ago by some idiot, that’s explains why I lost clutch pedal on occasion in the past as the mechanism was not set correctly. Anyway, travel and clutch fork engagement looks all good but good lord is that pedal nice and firm 😂

Will be interesting to see how it is to drive and if any cables snap or stretch over time.

Here is me next week.
