I'm going to be changing my complete exhaust system in the near future , mines had it ,does anyone have any suggestions for a good replacement which won't cost an arm and a leg. [smilie=thanks.gif]
By complete exhaust system I assume you mean manifold back Paul? In terms of cost and also user preference I'd be tempted to go down the custom route.
I'm not aware of any manifold back systems for the ph1. I think Janspeed used to do them (perhaps still do?). I've got the full Janspeed on my ph2 engine and it really is a quality piece of workmanship and the sound!!! [smilie=icon_eek.gif] .
Jon they do sell a full manifold ,sport cat system for the phase 1 for around £1400 ,the thing is I don't really know the true condition of my system but I think I would rather replace the lot rather than part of it ,plus you get rid of the pointless collector box and my drony quicksilver back box . Ah they still do the ph1 system. That's the one I'd plump for personally. It's a big financial commitment but you really won't look back. Bear in mind the standard system on yours is, what, at least 10 years old now? Who knows what sort of state it's in. Probably fine, but if you're in the market for exhausts you may as well go the whole hog and change it all rather than risk replacing a component only for a different component to fail/become sub-standard later down the line
Just make sure you ask Janspeed to get rid of the nasty slash-cut tailpipes and put on some straight edge ones!
