Ex Nigel Mansell 19 16v bought ready for restoration

Good news! hope you got a little cheaper than the asking price, looks like she needs a couple of quid spent on her.... good luck....

And i must again start on my old girl ........

Pretty poorly overall! She's been laid up in the same spot since 2003! Thankfully the same guy has a donor car which has some better parts on it. Apparently Williams tweaked the engine on this car from new. Not quite sure what they did to it but there's plenty of paperwork and history to go through. I've got a really good guy to sort the bodywork out and will tackle the mechanicals and trim myself. Can't wait to get started but I'm sure my enthusiasm might wait depending on the scale of work needed! Well worth it in the end though I'm sure! £400 well spent though I think!

4 ton ? Humm not bad, watch this space, what donor car is it???? Williams tweaked hummmmm not so sure on that though. rumor I reckon.
Have you been a previous 19 man or this ur first

Another phase 1 same colour but minus its engine. This is my first 19 although my Dad owned a grey phase 1 some years back which I loved

Glad someone bought this 250-500 was the tops anyone was really going to pay for this car. As far as williams tweeking it you better check the paperwork, I think it would be a standard F7P

Nice to have it on the site, I think £400 is a steal really, not many Phase 1's left now so anyone wanting one in the future will have to find more than £400 in years to come. Plus you have the nice feeling of knowing the car once had a famous owner!

How did you get it for £400 by the way, guy wanted a grand didn't he? That's some reduction!

Finally got the car moved to our garage for inspection! Engine and box will be coming out within the next few days to be stripped and overhauled.
Interior is way past its best but the cloth interior in the donor J reg car is really good so will go in for now whilst the leather interior is being refurbed/replaced.
The car is really solid underneath with only two small areas of corrosion to the sills.
Managed to get new genuine rear lamps and rear silencer for the car and a rot free bonnet which is currently being resprayed.
The owner had lost the keys so i had to get new ones cut to eventually move the car!

More to follow I promise!

Finally got the 16v back to our garage! The owner had lost the keys so new ones cut it reluctantly got loaded on a flatbed!
First job is to get the engine and box out and overhauled by Derek at Brookfield Engineering.
The leather interior is well past its best but my donor car has a great set of cloth seats and a far superior carpet.
The bonnet had rusted away beyond repair but the donor bonnet is rust free and just needs a repaint.
As far as corrosion goes it needs a couple of plates to the sills and some repairs to various panels.
Overall having been stood outside for over 10 years, pretty good!
Managed to get hold of a genuine new exhaust system and new tinted rear lamps.
I need two new alloy centre caps.
4 new Toyo tyres ready to be fitted after the wheels are refurbed.
Thats it for now, promise to get some photos up soon!

think i may have said this elsewhere but i came across lots of them on ebay.pl, worth a check there

yeah the sills are the same below the flared out bulged line bit at the top.

Please get some photos up. (y)

Work in progress

Loads to report on my restoration! This might sound a bit thick but how can I upload some photos from my desktop? It keeps asking me for a URL.

you have to upload them to somewhere like photobucket and then put the urls of them in your post
