5 GT Turbo EFI - GT Turbo

Speak to CG clutches, very helpfull.
They relined my paddle and checked pressure plate for £130.
They couldn't guarantee anything over 200lb/ft on a single plate.
They can make a custom twin plate but was expensive so I took a chance.

We have run 226ft/lb this year on their single plate and been ok.

The other options are clio 172 flywheel and clutch 215mm or Twin plate. Twin plate will be nice for road use but looking at decent money.

What clutch does Phil M use ?
If you are going for the big numbers, he may be the person to speak to aswell.
He's around the 300bhp mark.

Hope the next one holds out for you.
What did CG say ?

Said he hasn’t got anything suitable off the shelf unless I went twin plate or something like that. He suggested the could fix current one but when I sent him video he said it was fucked.

To be fair I’ve inspected the pads on the Helix and there is plenty of life left in it, it’s the rivets between the springs that have gone. Interestingly the rattling I’ve been hearing since the engine went in last year was from this issue and not the release bearing at all. So it’s been buggered a long time and taken some abuse.

If this next one causes issues I’ll have to do what Jon says and look at some other flywheel/clutch combo. Just can’t afford it at the mo, paid £160+ VAT for this new one which isn’t too bad.
