5 GT Turbo EFI - GT Turbo

Afternoon all,

Well after almost a full week and about 4 phone calls I finally took delivery of 2 x inlet valves today. They sent two as couldn't remember which ones they used on mine previously (awesome). Not only that I had to pay £50 for the privilege.

The inlet valve being replaced was actually bent and if memory serves it is the same cylinder in which the valve guide broke many months back, (I'll check back on thread when I have more time) now the skeptical side of my might hint at the possibility of them putting same valve back despite it being bent after the broken guide was fixed but I'll reserve judgment on that. ;-)

He confirmed all inlet valve seats were indeed not correct. Finally the cylinder that has caused the issue this time on top of valve seats being shite has a leaky spark plug hole, now being fixed also but told to ensure plugs have a good crush washer in future.

I get the head back Monday and expecting a bill in the region of £500.

So all in all, moral of the story is don't use CTM.

Not your fault mate, I had a long chat with Charlie before I gave them the work to do and liked what he had to say plus this was with on the basis of you receiving very good results on the rollers.

I'll be certain to make sure nobody has to go through the hassle I've had to with them. I reckon the best part of £2k all in all. Fingers crossed it all works this time.

We certainly had good results on the rollers, shame it didn't last more than a lap.

We are building a new engine for next year with another head so will get a good comparison with the heads, the spec will be the same and hoping around 260bhp @21PSI like before.

Good luck with it, my approach on the other hand will be 40psi it seems lol ;-)

Also I can see me sorting a new cylinder head soon too, I will wait and see how this one performs but I am wondering if their valves, guides and springs are just a load of shite.
