That chassis rail is so prone to rust... the careless filling of brake fluid drips on to that bit, isn't cleaned properly and it strips the paint off, cue rust overdrive.
Abs solenoid unit stripped and thoroughly cleaned. Solenoid continuity and operation checked. I accidentally damaged the ribbon cable when I removed them from the housing so had to rewire it, doh!
Painted the rocker, can't wait to get this back together! Engines coming out next week to fix the rusted chassis leg. Will also give me a chance to clean the bay and engine etc. Brake master has been cleaned too.
Engine out, had to air chisel the driver's side rear subframe mount as it wouldn't budge! Even with heat! Pic of chassis rail and also found the steering mount has cracked. Tempted to throw in the towel. Sell at is or break for parts. I've got so much going on at the moment but i can't keep it at my mates garage indefinitely.
To be fair, that's all it needs for an MOT which I don't think has even ran out yet. But the body work needs considerable time and effort. Engine just needs putting back together and a the parts refitting. It's just time as I have all the parts.
I've been pretty quiet on here but a little update. Managed to get the 21 moved to its new home and out of the elements. Absolute nightmare moving a car with no front subframe and seized rear brakes! Had to use a snatch block anchored to the garage floor to pull in off the trailer. Its in the garage at an angle but its in!
Took a while to find a house in the right location, budget AND have a double garage, my only stipulation. House needs some work but swings and roundabouts.
